Construction <br />of <br />street improvements <br />as were described in Resolution <br />No. 455 <br />4 <br />7 <br />7 <br />( Resolution <br />of <br />Intention 1947-1) to <br />which reference is hereby made <br />and <br />WHEREAS, said diagram includes the s^me district and properties as were declared <br />benefitted in Resolution No. 455 adopted on April 7th, 1947, and <br />WHEREAS, said diagram was filed with the City Clerk and presented to the City <br />Council on July 190 1945. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That said diagram as prepared by the City Engineer be and hereby is approved. <br />2. That the City Clerk be and hereby is instructed to certify to the approval <br />and the date thereof upon the face of said diagram. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 19th day of July 1945, by the.following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the .foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, and SWIFT. <br />NOES: and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilman: Mayor WERDER. <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. It was moved that an affidavit of publica- <br />tion of notice of hearing on application for permit to conduct a used car business <br />of Anthony A. Cataldo be filed on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by <br />Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />Investigation having been made in compliance with Section 5 of Ordinance No. 593, <br />by the Chief of Police, Fire Chief and City Manager and there was no objection to <br />such a permit being granted. Councilman Britschgi moved that the permit be granted, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />RESOLUTION No. 597. AGREEMENT WITH DIVISION OFSTATE HIGHWAYS, providing for maintenance <br />of the State highway routes within the City for the next fiscal year, July 1, 1945 <br />to June 30, 1949. Administrative Assistant Miller stated that the agreement this <br />year provided a new basis for intersection lighting. The state would supply only <br />the proportional cost of an intersection that consisted of state highway rather <br />than last year's 100% basis. Therefore, a transfer to t' -.e Electrical Budget might <br />be necessitated later on in the year, since there would probably be a deficit of <br />between $500 and $1000. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution and moved adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried on roll call. Mayor Werder noted absent. <br />JOHNSON STREET AND ALLEYS. Imle D. Searcy, 245 Johnson Street, representing a majority <br />r.. of owners from Roosevelt to Oak Street, appeared in regards to the paving of <br />Johnson Street, stating that redrock had been removed, dust situation was bad and <br />they would like to know when this street would be paved. City Engineer explained <br />that all the redrock had been put back when the street was graded, that he would <br />return the petition to him for more signatures to bring it up to 61%. Under the <br />discussion it was explained that this was an unwieldly and costly district, however, <br />
