48 since the residents have wanted this one block paved for t—
o years, it was decided
that if the people wanted the job done before winter, the Council was willing to
proceed. Councilman Granger moved that the Engineering Department give this partic-
ular project priority No. 1 as far as street projects, due to the fact that the City
had already disturbed redrock on the street providing names of owners of property
are submitted on petition, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. Councilman
Granger moved that the City Attorney take necessary steps to start the project by
having all the papers ready should the petition come in, seconded by Councilman
Holmquist, and carried.
CITY ENGINEER JAIN stated the Union Paving Company had almost completed Central Park
District, Resolution of Intention 194b-2, several months ago. It was to have been
completed last fall. The City was out $3000 at this point, probably City funds
would have to be used until the money is received. They have done nothing more to
complete the job. Councilman Granger moved that the matter be referred to the
bonding company, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried.
CITY MANAGER REPORTED THAT MR. JOHNSON, president of the National Motor Bearing Company,
gave verbal consent for the right-of-way to lay a 10" main to connect with Broadway
extension for Mr. Territo. Discussion followed as to the City's liability in
installing water mains in this district. It was explained that a verbal agreement
was made with the Land.Development Company to connect to lines at the property line,
the Land Development Company to install all mains through the property. This
understanding was concurred in by Mr. L. E. Werder, representative of the Company.
ORDINANCE No. SEWER RENTALS. Ordinance had been drafted by City Attorney Currie
establishing sewer rentals effective on September 1st. City Manager Rolison stated
that this action would raise sufficient money to redeem sewer bonds in the amount
of $28,000, otherwise this amount would of necessity be reflected in the tax roll.
Councilman Britschgi asked about North Fair Oaks. City Manager Rolison replied
that the County would pay its share on metered basis and were paying about 30% of
the cost of the plant. Councilman Spillers moved introduction of ordinance,
seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried.
PERRY STREET PARKING LOT. There was a balance due of 8238.31, City Attorney Currie
stated and thought in fairness this should be taken care of at this time. The
amount will eventually be recovered. It was moved by Councilman Holmquist that
this amount be paid, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried.
CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE STATED that notice calling for bids on the Armory Property would
be opened on August 2nd at 8:00 P.M., that an appraiser should be appointed to
appraise the value of the property and suggested that the City Manager be appointed
and he consult the Real Estate Committee of Council and any other person he might
see fit to consult. Councilman Britschgi moved that City Manager Rolison be
appointed to appraise property, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried.
OAK RIDGE TRACT. This tract was completed except for electroliers and a few items,
reported City Attorney Currie. It was understood that the electroliers would have
to be put in when available even though the cost may be more. City Attorney Currie
recommended the release of the bond with the understanding that the subdivider
deposit sufficient cash to guarantee installation of electroliers and other items.
Councilman Spillers moved that the City Engineer Jain be authorized to accept the
job except for the two items, deposit to be made as above, seconded by Councilman
0
0
8
01
