<br />CLAINS Nos. 39+3 to 4070 inclusive, in the amount of $86,258.17, having been checked in
<br />detail were submitted for payment. Councilman Granger moved that the claims be
<br />paid, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried.
<br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER STATED that certified copy of the Disaster Relief Ordinance should be
<br />sent to the State for their records so that they will be notified that the procedure
<br />is ready for registering of these people.

<br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, H. E.Holmquist,Albert H. Morgan Jr.,
<br />Robert V. Spillers, A.V.Swift, Mayor W. M. Werder and City Clerk R.S.11odge. Also present were City
<br />Manager E.A. Holison,City Attorney C. B. Currie, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, City Engineer Glenn Jain,
<br />Assistant Engineer H. L.Winter, City Collector Paul E. Perrin,Assessor-Auditor J. J.Brophy, Building
<br />Inspector L. M. Duncan,Lt. S. D. Wood, Administrative Assistant Richard D. Miller, Health Inspector
<br />Royal Hodge. Councilman Britschgi noted absent.
<br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the regular meeting of July 19th were approved as mailed on motion of
<br />Councilman Holmquist, seconded by CouncilmanSpillers, and carried.
<br />RESTAURANT APPLICATION OF ARNALDO L. CABRAL, 35 CHARTER STREET, PENINSULA RESTAURANT AT 2340 EL CAMINO REAL
<br />having been inspected by Building Inspector, Fire, Health and Police Departments, permit was granted
<br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift, and arried.
<br />CLAIM OF JOSEPH MERCURIO AND ADELYNE MERCURIO, 1160- 17th Avenue for alleged injuries due to fall in
<br />yR� street near No. 3642 Page Street, was denied and referred to insurance carrier on motion of Councilman
<br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried.
<br />CLAIM OF HILDA M. COURTNEY FOR ALLEGED INJURY due to fall on sidewalk east of No. 13 James Street, was
<br />denied and referred to insurance carrier, on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman
<br />Holmquist, and carried.
<br />COPY OF COMPLAINT TO MARYLAND CASUALTY COMPANY RE CLAIM OF DANIEL L. BONILLAS VS CITY OF REDWOOD CITY for
<br />alleged injuries in accident when he struck City truck while on motorcycle was read and ordered filed.
<br />AT PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF JULY 26th, POLICY WAS ADOPTED LIMITING OFF-SITE DIRECTIONAL ADVERTISING
<br />SIGNS TO A MAXIMUM OF 5' x 101, however, before putting this policy into effect they would $ke the
<br />opinion of the City Council. Even though policy might be put into effect, each applicant for such a
<br />sign would have to obtain the approval of the Planning Commission and each case would be decided on
<br />its own merit. After considerable discussion this was held over to allow a further study toward an
<br />ultimate revamping of the entire sign question. On motion of Councilman Granger a complete new sign
<br />ordinance was to be drafted governing all signs including fees, etc., seconded by Councilman Swift, and
<br />carried.
<br />PROPOSED NF7J SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE. Planning Commission recommended that the firm of Hahn -Campbell & Associates
<br />be employed to write a new subdivision ordinance and follow through study meetings and public heari:g s
<br />of the technical experience necessary to write an adequate and modern ordinance it was the feeling of the
<br />Planning Commission that experts in the field should be employed to do the job. Hahn -Campbell &
<br />Associates had agreed to write the ordinance for the sum of $200. Upon discussion it was thought
<br />$200 a reasonable figure for this work. Councilman Morgan moved that Hahn -Campbell & Associates be
<br />employed to write this ordinance for the sum of $200, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. Under the
<br />question Councilman Granger suggested that the ordinance be developed in keeping with other Peninsula
