flWJ <br />Cities adjacent to Redwood City. Mayor Werder thought this would be carried out inasmuch as the <br />firm was local on the Peninsula and had worked out other subdivision ordinances. Councilman Morgan <br />thought a draft should be submitted for the Council to consider, to be returned with their comments. <br />Motion carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVED RE -SUBDIVISION OF LOTS 19, 20 & 21, BLOCK 48, CENTRAL PARK #2, OWNED BY M. S. <br />BACIGALUPI, into two lots as follows: corner lot 65'x95' and interior lot 55'x951. Approval was based <br />on elimination of two 25' lots of record. Councilman Morgan stated he was present at the Planning <br />Commission meeting at the Mayor's request and moved that the recommendation be accepted, seconded wi <br />by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />PLANNING CO'!-;ISSION APPROVED APPLICATION OF E. TILLMAN FOR RE -SUBDIVISION OF PORTION OF LOTS 3 AND 4, EATON <br />AVENUE VILLA DIVIDING 2 LOTS 801x160' EACH, subject to the following conditions; (1) That a sewer <br />agreement be reached with the City of San Carlos. (2) That access streets and improvements meet the <br />requirements of tbeCity Engineer. Councilman Granger stated that when this subdivision was annexed <br />to the City it was understood that no lots -could be subdivided and the City waived sidewalks, curbs, <br />and gutters. Councilman Granger moved that recommendation be referred back to Planning Commission for <br />a better reason before granting approval to subdivide, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />WEST COAST SHOWS, INC., 500 CLEMENT STREET, SAN FRANCISCO 18, APPLICr.TION BY LETTER TO SHOW IN REDWOOD <br />CITY THE THREE DAYS OF SEPTEMBER 9th, 10th and 11th, with attached check of $100 to cover cleaning of <br />lot and guaranteeing removal of all bill posting paper was granted on motion of Councilman Swift, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers. Lot to be used is located at Spring and Walnut Streets, owned <br />by Mrs. H. B. Charlotte Dixon of 2630 Fulton Street, San Francisco. Councilman Horgan asked if <br />City was thoroughly protected and Councilman Swift included in his motion that the West Coast Shows <br />comply with all State rules, Chief of Police and Fire Department to have full jurisdiction, seconded <br />by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. This was an ordinance amending an ordinance entitled "Ordinance No. 445", Creating <br />and Establishing a Personnel System. Section 5 of said Ordinance No. 445 was amended by adding <br />thereto a new section to be known as Section (1) to read as follows: (1) Administrative Assistant, ordi- <br />nance to take effect and be in force from and after thirty (30) days after its adoption, and re- <br />pealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict. After contacting other cities it was <br />learned that the position of Administrative Assistant was almost universally classified as a non - <br />civil service position, and was so recommended by the Personnel Board. Councilman Morgan moved <br />introduction of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />FED. J. EARLY, JH., CO., CONTRACTOR, REQUESTED A TIME EXTENSION FOR t%ORK ON SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT, due <br />to delay on account of contract requirements <br />for 20 ft nominal length piling on actual tests <br />developed that 60 ft long piling were needed <br />and authorized. Other delays <br />in placing orders for <br />piling and added time for driving the longer <br />lengths prompted the request <br />of sixty days for com- <br />pletion. City Manager Rolison stated he had <br />discussed this with the City <br />Engineer and -bey agreed <br />there was some delay but questioned whether <br />sixty days extension would be <br />needed for completion, <br />but suggested that if job is not completed in <br />construction period that an <br />extension could be <br />granted at that time if necessary. Councilman Spillers moved that City Manager's recommendation <br />be approved, seconded by Councilman Morgan, <br />and carried. <br />AT REQUEST OF RECREATION COM!'ISSION PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS HAD BEEN PREPARED FOR THE C}NSTRUCTION OF <br />A 5 FT CONCRET', SERVICE WA1:K SURROUNDING NEW RECREATION BUILDING AND A 6 FT SIDEWALK FRONTING ON <br />ROOSEVELT AVENUE. Proposed plan calls for construction of 4650 square feet of walks at an estimated <br />cost of $1,534.50 to be paid from 1944 Bond Funds. City Manager recommended that City advertise <br />for sealed bids for work to be done on contract basis if authorized by the Council. Councilman <br />
