Mayor Werder explained that the committee on this <br />had asked another two weeks and that if he would be willing to bear with them another two weeks the <br />committee would be prepared to act at that time. <br />REAL NATE COMMITTEE REPORT. LETTER SUBMITTED BY CITY COLLECTOR PERRIN STATED THAT MR. JAMES CORBETT OF <br />922 VALOTA ROAD SUBMITTED BID OF $600, PLUS PUBLICATIOTN COSTS, FOR LOTS 18, 19 & 20, BLOCK 2, RESU&. <br />OF LOT 25, W. W. & M. SUB. The delinquent taxes on these lots amounted to approximately $228, $165 to <br />the City of Redwood City and $63 to San Mateo County. The Real Estate Committee and Mr. Perrin had <br />examined these unimproved lots and believed this was a fair bid. Councilman Granger rncxred that 07 <br />findings of committee be approved and that they be authorized to proceed with the sale, seconded by .WA <br />Councilman Spillers. City Attorney stated that in the future when property is sold that it should <br />also be approved by the City Engineer. City Engineer had approved this particular sale. However, <br />Councilman Granger amended this motion to include this condition. Motion carried. <br />COMMITTEE ON EMERALD LAKE WATER PROJECT. Councilman Morgan announced that a meeting was called for Friday <br />night in the Council Chambers and the people from Emerald Lake were invited to meet with them and <br />invited any Council Member who wished to attend to do so. <br />JOHNSON STREET AND ALLEYS. Imle D. Searcy, 245 Johnson, presented peition with 70% of owner's signatures <br />and stated the problem had been worked out at a closed meeting last Tuesday. They did not wish to <br />pay for storm sewers as this would cost $14 per front foot. It was agreed to try to elevate the <br />street, however, City Engineer Jain stated he was unable at this time to say whether or not drainage <br />could be handled without the installation of a storm drain. Mayor Werder asked if the work was <br />authorized if it dould be done before the rains. It was understood there would be a little delay <br />for the public hearing. City Attorney Currie explained that changes on the storm sewer system could <br />be made after the Resolution of Preliminary Determination was adopted, if. necessary. Councilman <br />Granger offered for adoption the Resolution of Preliminary Determination, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers, and carried on roll call. This ordinance granted to the Land Development Comoany, a Corporation, a permit to <br />construct an industrial spur track across Charter Street in the City of Redwood City and describing <br />terms, conditions, and obligations upon which said permit is granted. Councilman Spillers moved that <br />affidavit of publication be filed, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. Councilman Granger <br />moved adoption of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried on roll call. Councilman <br />Britschgi noted absent. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 598. An ordinance relating to Sewer Rentals was Tresented for adoption. Councilman Swift <br />moved that affidavit of publication be filed, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. City <br />Manager Rolison stated that postal cards would be sent out telling water consumers that sewer rental <br />rates would be effective September 1st. Such charge is to be for bond redemption and interest and <br />operation of Sewage Treatment Plant. Councilman Spillers moved adoption of ordinance, seconded by <br />Councilman Swift, and carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi noted absent. <br />PROPERTY ADJACENT TO SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT. City Attorney reported that deeds were prepared and forwarded <br />and waiting to be deposited At the title company in accordance with their agreement to the property <br />owners. Councilman Spillers suggested this be placed on egenda. <br />UNCOLLECTABLE EXPENDITURES. Certain expenditures made by the City recommended by Mr. Uhlenberg to be <br />written off were referred to City Manager for his recommendation at the last meeting. <br />1.
