490 <br />ATT ES T: <br />RALPH S. DODGE <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />I, hereby approve the foregoing resolution <br />this 3rd day of August, 1948. <br />W. M. Werder <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT COUNCIL SHOULD ADJOURN TO MONDAY, AUGUST 9th, at 10:00 AM to sit as Board of Equalization. <br />CO?'!JCILMAPI MORGAN THOUGHT TRAFFIC CONGESTION AROUND DEPOT AT 5:00 PM should be referred to the Traffic and <br />Safety Commission. Councilman Morgan moved that this be looked into, seconded by Councilman S,aift, and <br />carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED T?iAT PROPER AUTHORITIES PRESENT FINANCIAL STATEMENT ON THE 10th of each month accord- <br />ing to the Charter. <br />He also asked the City Clerk to review the mimtes and give a report on outstanding committees. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER REQUESTED THAT ANYONE REPRESENTING ANY AND ALL COMMISSIONS WHO APPEARED TO SPEAK CN ANY <br />SUBJECT, SHOULD FIRST SUBMIT A ;WRITTEN APPEAL or statement to the Council stating their needs or requests, <br />and he so moved that written reports must be submitted as well as verbal, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, <br />and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY STATED THAT THE RESOLUTION OF PRELIrINARY DETERMINATION IN RE SEWER PROJECT FOR KENSINGTON SQUARE <br />was ready except there was some question as to boundary. Councilman Granger suggested this he placed on <br />agenda for August 9th, at 10:00 AM. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST ASKED THAT INFORMATION BE SECURED ON PROPOSED SIGNALS AT CHESTNUT. STREET AND BAYSHORE. <br />Councilman Holmquist stated that traffic on Page Street in Friendly :Acres was too fast and suggested <br />this be referred to the Traffic and Safety Commission as there was a need for stop or other type of <br />traffic signs. <br />He also mentioned rough intersection in front of City rian, but City Engineer stated this was the immediate <br />next on the street program. <br />Councilman Holmquist expressed danger of heavy gasoline trucks travelling City streets. Fire Chief Lodi <br />stated this could be limited by limiting the weight of trucks on certain streets on order of the Police <br />Department. Mayor Werder suggested that a report be brought in or sample ordinances on what other cities <br />are doing on this. <br />WELTNER MOTOR COMPANY SUBMITTED LETTER REQUESTING A PERMIT TO USE LOT ON CORNER OF WINKLEBACK AND EL CAMINO REAL <br />FOR USED TRUCKS. Councilman Granger moved that permit be denied based on an agreement with Mr.'4eltner that <br />he would close this lot if the Cou,ri.l permitted him to rove south on D.*Camino Real and open a used car lot, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />LIBRARY COMMITTEE. Councilman Granger asked that this report be put on agenda for the next meeting. <br />CLAIM NOS. 4071 and 4152 inclusive in the amount of $61,841.58, having been checked in detail were submitted for <br />payment. Councilman Spillers moved that claims be paid, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the meeting adiourn to Monday, August 9th at 10:00 AM to reconvene as Board <br />of Equalization, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />&4-� Ah4t� <br />RALPH S.
