<br />EXCERPT OF MINUTES OF BOARD OF PORT COM,�ISSIONERS STATED THE BUDGET APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL CONTEMPLATED A
<br />CONTRIBUTION BY THE PORT IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,600 to cover: Retirement of Port Bonds $13,000, Interest
<br />on Fort Bonds $4,600. No action was taken pending receipt of formal request from the City Council.
<br />Payment was expected on June 30th. Councilman Spillers moved that request be made by City Clerk for the
<br />Port to make this payment, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried.
<br />JOINT INSPECTION ON CONDITION OF FINGER CREEK. Building, Health and Fire Departments inspected this area
<br />and reported that three or four places show evidence that both San Carlos and Redwood City residents are
<br />dumping rubbish into the creek. Near Warwick street Bridge goats were penned up near a large accumulation
<br />of rubbish. Rubbish should be cleaned up and creek posted by both San Carlos and Redwood City to elim-
<br />inate fire hazards. Vacant lots should be kept clean of rubbish and it was recommended that they be
<br />hosted. Councilman'Holmquist moved that Sari Carl6s authorities be contacted in effort to co-operate
<br />in abating the nuisance, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and tarried.
<br />LETTER FROM COL. JNO. H. SKEGGS, ASSISTANT STATE HIGHWAY ENGINEER, ACKNOWLEDGED RECEIPT OF UTILITY MAPS,
<br />PLANS OF PROPOSED SIGNALIZATION & TABULATED TRAFFIC COUNTS AT VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS ON EL CAMINO REAL
<br />& BAYSHORE HIGHWAY, stating that this information would greatly assist them in preparation of plans for
<br />the modernization of the traffic system on El Camino Real. Communication ordered filed. City Manager
<br />suggested that this might be checked into at the same time the Chestnut & Bayshore signal would be con-
<br />sidered.

<br />WHEN FLOORING GAVE WAY AS SHE LEFT BLEACHERS AT HAWES, PARK, Monday, August 2nd, at 8:15 PM after a
<br />softball game. Councilman Granger moved that claim be denied and letter referred to insurance carr!i:dr
<br />and Mrs.Acers be so notified, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried.
<br />SALE OF LOT 4B, ARB BLOCK 267, BOYD & KENT ADDITION BY COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR, FOR BALANCE OF DELINQUENT BOND
<br />ASSESSMENT. This was sold at Public Auction on June 3, 1948, had been delinquent since 1929. City
<br />Collector requested approval to the cancellation of the balance of 1915 Act Improvement Bond - Series K-4.
<br />Amount of bond - Series K-4 11,387.81
<br />Amount received 615.96
<br />Balance remaining . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .$771.85
<br />Pro -rata share received by City Collector was not sufficient to pay off the bond in full. Councilman
<br />Holmquist moved that balance be cancelled to clear records, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried.
<br />PENINSULA AMBULANCE SERVICE REQUEST NEED OF ANOTHER RESUSCITATOR. At present the only one available in the
<br />City is with the Fire Department. Ownership would remain with the City and would be turned back should
<br />the service ever be terminated. City was requested to approve the purchase and installation in their
<br />ambulance. Councilman Granger moved that this be referred to the Fire Department for recommerftion,
<br />seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried.
<br />APPLICATION FOR DANCE PERMIT, ARNALDO L. CABR,'�L, 2340 EL CAMINO REAL, to hold two dances per week in restau-
<br />rant which was separated from bar. Councilman Granger moved that this be referred to proper authorities,
<br />that is, the Fire and Police Department for their investigation and recommendation, seconded by Council-
<br />man Holmquist, and carried.
