Superintendent of Streets of said City be and he is hereby ordered and directed to
abate the nuisance existing as specified in said Resolution No. 550 Declaring Weeds
a Nuisance and Ordering Their Removal, and as provided by law.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the
City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of April, 1949,
by the following vote:
AYES and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing Resolution:
Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, SWIFT, McNULTY, WERDER AND Mayor HILTON.
NOES: Councilmen: NONE
ABSENT: Councilmen: NONE
ATTEST:
RALPH S. DODGE
Clerk of the City of Redwood City
W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution this
5th day of April, 1948.
W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
PUBLIC HEARING - REDWOOD VILLA PARK. Written protest from Aileen P. Weaver, 219 Center
Street, was read by the City Clerk protesting work done by contractor in front of
this and adjoining lot. Mayor Hilton asked if there were any verbal objections to
Redwood Villa Park Improvements. Letter from City Engineer Jain to City Manager
Rolison was read by the City Clerk City Manager concurred in recommendation that
City Council approve assessments in Assessment Map of Redwood Villa Park Street
Improvements. There are some minor corrections to be made most of which contractor
has done, but will be required to make any corrections which are due to faulty
construction or materials, whether assessment is approved or not. Gertrude Merkh
verbally protested assessment of $700 on her corner lot, thought that they should
be assessed for frontage and side streets shared by everyone. City Engineer ex-
plained that corner lots are assessed for frontage plus one-half of side street,
remaining half distributed over whole area, that this is the policy established by
the City many years ago and 75% of 80% of the cities used this method. City
Engineer stated that as soon as weather permitted and ground was sufficiently dry
the City would replace and straighten necessary portion of the driveways of
Gertrude Merkh, 335 Madrone and Mrs. Carl F. Rehbock, 167 Park Street supplying
necessary material in kind to match present driveway. Councilman Werder offered
Resolution and moved adoption overruling all protests, seconded by Councilman
Britschgi, and carried on roll call.
RE S 0 L U T ION No. 562.
RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTESTS UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION No. 1946-3.
