removed, responsibility to remove buildings and restore property to original 4 Of
condition. Motion was seconded by Councilman Werder, and carried.
PETER D ELA APPLICATION TO RE -SUBDIVIDE Lots b, 7, 8, and 9, Block 42, Central Park No. y
.into two parcels of over the present area requirements was recommended by the Plan-
ning Commission as it would eliminate three 25 foot lots and substitute two lots of
over 60 foot frontage. Councilman Werder moved approval of Planning Commission,
seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried.
LETTER FROM CALIFORNIA MISSION TRAILS WAS READ by the Clerk asking for subscription to
their advertising program and stating that last year the City of Redwood City sub-
scribed $150 to this fund. This was discussed, and referred to the Chamber of
Commerce to be considered on their budget which will be submitted to the City Mana-
ger for his recommendation to the Council on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded
by Councilman Britschgi, and carried.
WM. F. COOMBS, 203 Lexington Avenue, submitted application for trailer court, Lot 7,
Block 1, Friend Industrial Tract on Bayshore Highway. Property consists of 2.92
acres, 200 foot frontage on Bayshore, 657.48 feet deep on North, 613.50 feet on
South, 20+.78 feet at back. Measurements will be 140 feet less in depth to allow
for new Freeway and Public Utility Easement. Plans are for 44 trailers with 11
individual buildings with toilets, showers and wash basins. Mr. Coombs also sub-
mitted a petition asking for additional water facilities to serve the Friend Indus-
trial Tract, located east of Bayshore Highway and south of Chestnut Street, to pro-
vide sufficient water supply for new business. Petition had seven signatures. Mra
P. J. Sheridan, one of the signers of petition, appeared and stated they were without
adequate protection in the event of fire; that their investment in business in this
section was $100,000. It was the general concensus of opinion that the cost and
increase of water supply in a somewhat isolated section of the City would deprive
other parts of the City that have been waiting a longer time for improved service.
Permit for trailer court was granted based upon water conditions now available of
5/8" meter and subject to present water conditions, on motion of Councilman Granger,
seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. City Manager to report back after
study of request of petitioners of Friend Industrial Tract regarding additional
water facilities. Mr. Coombs asked permission to put in a 2" line at the back of
property. Councilman Britschgi suggested waiting for report and inquired if he
would want to put in own pipe line and share on paying for the other also. Mr.
Coombs agreed that he would no -6 want to pay for both.
''" PULGAS MOSQUITO ABATEMENT BOARD. Letter received from A. H. Sagehorn, Secretary, that
Henry A. Beeger represents Redwood City on this board, term of office is for two
years and reappointment is due at this time.
JOHN L. DE POLO, 5b Alameda de las Pulgas, requested permission to install a 200 to
300 gallon gas tank underground with appropriate pump attachment. Tank is for per-
sonal use and will adhere to regulations in regard to depth below ground and dis-
tance from building. Fire Inspector reported there were no restrictions as to
such installation. City Attorney commented if there were no restrictions as to
fire it could be granted. Councilman Werder moved that Mr. De Polo be granted per-
mission to install tank subject to Building and F ire Inspectors' approval, seconded
by Councilman Swift, and carried. Fire Chief Lodi remarked that though there were
no restrictions in the code for the residential areas there was a definite fire
