Q voted for him to do so also and thus nominated Wm W. Werder. Councilman Swift nominated Carl A. Britschgi. There being no further nominations Councilman Werder was elected Mayor on the following roll call: those voting for Councilman Werder were.: Council- men: Granger, Holmquist, Morgan and Werder; those voting for Councilman Britschgi were: Councilmen: Britschgi, Spillers and Swift. Councilman Britschgi desired to make it unanimous and declared his vote for Councilman Werder and asked those who voted for him to change their vote for Councilman Werder. Councilman Swift then moved that Councilman Werder be their Mayor for the next two years, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. Mayor Werder and all of the Councilmen gave short talks pledging their efforts and cooperation for the coming years. RESOLUTION No. 569. Resolution authorizing Mayor Werder and City Clerk -Treasurer to countersign checks for salaries was offered and moved for adoption by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried on roll call. RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that, effective immediately, and continuing thereafter until notice of change of this Resolu- tion is given to BANK OF AMERICA NATIONAL TRUST & SAVINGS ASSOCIATION, Ralph S. Dodge, City Treasurer, W. M. Werder, Mayor and E. A. Rolison, City Manager of the City of Redwood City, shall have authority to enter the safe deposit box of said City at said BANK OF AMERICA NATIONAL TRUST & SAVINGS ASSOCIATION, Redwood City Branch.
