DODGE; <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution <br />this 20th day of April, 1948. <br />W. M. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN DISCUSSED SUBJECT OF OVERCROWDED HALLS AND PLACES OF PUBLIC GATHERINGS, <br />noting that Redwood City has grown rapidly, the recent circus accident, and stated <br />halls are being overcrowded and something should be done to take care of the situa- <br />tion. Signs should be posted noting capacity of halls and exits illuminated at all <br />times in halls holding more than 100 persons; exit bolts or "panic bolts" used on <br />exit doors. Referred to City Manager, Chief of Police and Fire Department. Coun- <br />cilman Holmquist mentioned this was along the line he brought up at last meeting, <br />that City Attorney was checking on laws regarding temporary structures. <br />Councilman Granger stated the Committee on Disaster Relief had made some investi- <br />gations, that there was a possibility that Washington would forward information as <br />to procedure, that he would continue with the work if the intention is to keep the <br />committee. It was understood that all committees were disbanded and the Mayor will <br />make new appointments. <br />CITY ATTORNEY INQUIRED IF THE MAYOR would appoint a committee to work on acquisition of <br />property for Sewage Disposal Plant. It will be necessary to appoint a new real <br />estate committee of two to work with the City Attorney on this, meet with the <br />property owners and to act within certain limits final decision resting with action <br />of Council. It was moved by Councilman Swift, that such a committee be appointed, <br />seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI moved adjournment, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />PON Adjournment 9:10 P.
