Councilman Holmquist moved this be placed on agenda for next <br />meeting thus providing time to study further, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and <br />carried. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO PAINT FIRE TRUCK No. 4 for $1097.36, low bid, was submitted by Fire Chief <br />Lodi and approved by City Manager Rolison. If job can be started at once, which will <br />take five weeks, truck will be in service before the dry season. Bids for painting <br />Engine No. 3 and Truck No. 4 were above the budget estimate and it was recommended <br />that painting of Engine No. 3 be eliminated, years of service left in engine did not <br />warrant the expenditure of $909.50 for painting. Councilman Morgan moved that City <br />Manager be granted authority to have truck painted and accept low bid, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />DISAPPROVAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION ON APPLICATION, Mina S. Tiedemann to resubdivide Lots <br />4 and 5, and westerly 71.57 feet of Lot 6, Reese Subdivision Lot 15, representing <br />an area of 76.59 x 13+.90 feet, because there is not sufficient area to make two <br />6,000 square foot lots. As there were no objections Mayor Werder ordered communi- <br />cation filed. <br />COMMUNICATION FROM PLANNING COMMISSION STATED FOLLOWING OFFICERS WERE ELECTED ON April 26, <br />1948 for remainder of year: Francis Britschgi, Chairman, Paul Jones, Vice -Chairman. <br />Communication ordered filed. <br />PLANNING CO.-I-iISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF FOLLOWING CHANGES IN STREET NA14ES: <br />1. Hampton Court and Louisiana Streets to be changed to Hampton Avenue. <br />2. Hampton Way to be changed to , McNulty May <br />Hampton Lane to be changed to Ryan Lane <br />Halsey to be changed to McGarvey Avenue <br />City Engineer Jain stated that today something came up which may affect change of <br />Hampton Court to Hampton Avenue and suggested this be held up on this account. He <br />also stated that 14. J. King Inc., had since named a street west of this Kentucky <br />Avenue. Mayor Werder suggested that recomimendation be referred back for further <br />study to the Planning Commission and that changes of all street names be made at one <br />time in one ordinance. Mayor Werder asked if anyone in audience wished to protest <br />the renaming of streets. There being no objections he moved that this recommenda- <br />tion be referred back to Planning Commission for complete renaming of streets to be <br />submitted at next Council meeting for further recommendation. Motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />LETTER FROi2 SAMUEL F. CAPPA, idANAGER, STATE REALTY COMPANY, RE SUBDIVISION OF LOT ON <br />VALOTA ROAD, ADDRESSED TO Francis Britschgi, Chairman of Planning Commission, having <br />been directed to City Council, was suggested by City Clerk to be referred to Plan- <br />ning Commission for their consideration. There being no objection Mayor Werder <br />conceded recommendation of City Clerk be carried out. <br />LEASE IN TRIPLICATE TO BE FORWARDED TO SEQUOIA HIGH SCHOOL OF SITE FOR QUONSET HUTS <br />starting May 1st, 1948 to be used for Military and/or Naval puposes by City Clerk <br />Dodge. Following stipulations were made in use permit: <br />1. All buildings to be located as shown on plans submitted by Commander Fox. <br />2. That the Navy agree to remove all installation on 90 -day notice, by the Planning <br />Commission. <br />3.
