Councilman Swift <br />noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 572. <br />RESOLUTIO14 AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT FOR MAINTEN- <br />ANCE OF STATE HIGHWAY IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />WHEREAS the Department of Public Works of the State of California, acting by � <br />and through the Division of Highways, and the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY desire to provide <br />for the maintenance of certain portions of certain State Highway Routes in the City Mimi <br />of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS it is agreed -that the City will maintain portions lying between the curb <br />lines and the right-of-way lines on El Camino Real and Woodside Road; and <br />WHEREAS an agreement providing for the maintenance of said portions of State <br />highways has been prepared and presented to the said City of Redwood City for exe- <br />cution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that <br />the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they hereby are, authorized to execute said agree- <br />ment on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of Resolution No. 572 adopted <br />by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of May, 1948, at <br />the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Redwood City, California. <br />IN WITb1ESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set ny hand and the seal of said City this <br />4th day of May, 1948. <br />RALPH S. Councilman Britschgi moved that affidavit of publication be filed <br />on ordinance appropriating funds for acquisition of Perry off-street parking lot, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. Councilman Britschgi offered and <br />moved adoption of ordinance appropriating funds not to exceed $25,000 for the pur- <br />chase of said parking lot, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried on roll call. <br />Councilman Swift noted absent. Councilman Britschgi suggested that City Engineer <br />have some red rock put in chuck holes in this lot as a temporary measure. <br />L. C. SMITH REQUEST EXTENSI01,11 OF THE ON CONTRACT FOR REDWOOD TERRACE No. 1 in letter to <br />City Manager Rolison, to July 1st, 1948. Council denied any responsibility for delay <br />in fulfillment of contract and granted request on motion of Councilman Holmquist, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />SUBSTANDARD HOUSING 504 Hamilton, P. Flores, partial compliance. Family of eight is <br />living in basement with unventilated stove reported by City Attorney Currie and would <br />like Council to take some action to get them out of that condition. City Attorney <br />stated Council could have people appear before them and show cause why they should <br />not move. Councilman Britschgi so moved, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and <br />carried. <br />RECREATION COMMISSION DESIRED TO HAVE RECREATION BUILDING ACCEPTED SUBJECT TO COMPLETION <br />OF FEW ITEMS WHICH CONTRACTCR WILL AGREE TO DO. Councilman Holmquist moved that <br />building be accepted providing contractor agrees in writing to correct several minor ' <br />things, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Morgan wished to know if side <br />walks or landscaping was included. City Manager Rolison informed him they were <br />not. motion carried. <br />APPLICATI=ON TO INSTALL SEPTIC TANK BY ALFRED Wm. LAURIE was brought up by City Engineer <br />Jain and stated he believed Building Inspector Duncan concurred that this should be <br />rejected as they are within 75 feet from an existing manhole and can reach a setrrer <br />in two directions. <br />
