CITY ENGINEER JAIN REPORTED THAT HE HAD CHECKED FURTHER ON ELIMINATIC14 OF ISLANDS ON <br />BLAAiDFORD A1,TD- EDGEWOOD, and had discussed the subject with some of the neighbors. <br />Removal of island would create a worse hazard and suggested cutting shrubs on most <br />419 <br />westerly end and putting up black and white posts with reflectors; also there was a <br />manhole that it was necessary to get to once in a while. Councilman Morgan moved that <br />Council approve recommendation of City Manager, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and <br />carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE REPORT ON R?'DWOOD TERRACE N0. 3 11 P. Map to be approved subject to <br />three conditions: 1. Condition set forth by City Engineer in his report; 2. Nec- <br />essary bond or deposit of funds for improvements required; 3. Not to be filed <br />before water question is cleared up. They can proceed with work, but cannot sell <br />lots or build houses; approval of map could. be registered subject to the three con- <br />ditions before it is filed, and water question cleared up to the satisfaction of the <br />Council. Councilman Britschgi and Holmquist declared in their opinion Council should <br />take no action until all requirements were fulfilled. City Engineer Jain stated it <br />was possible for subdivider to proceed and put in all improvements and map could be <br />accepted or rejected within a year. Councilman Britschgi moved that no action be <br />taken until existing water situation has been cleared up, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers, and carried. <br />RESOLUTION No. 573. Councilman Britschgi offered and moved adoption of resolution author- <br />izing Migyor and City Clerk to affix signatures to First Supplemental Memorandum of <br />Agreement for Expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax for State Highways, seconded by Coun- <br />cilm9n Spillers, and carried on roll call. Councilman Swift noted absent. <br />R E S 0 L U T ION No. 573• <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING FIRST <br />SUPPLEMENTAL MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF 1/4CENT GAS TAX <br />ALLOCATED FOR STATE HIGMIAYS <br />WHEREAS, the State of California, through its Department of Public Works, <br />Division of Highways, has presented a first supplemental memorandum of agreement <br />in accordance with a project statement submitted by the city for expenditure of <br />the 1/4 cent gas tax for the 1948 fiscal year allocated for State highways in the <br />City of RedlJood City; and <br />WHEREAS, the city council has heard read said agreement in full and is <br />familiar with the contents thereof; <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city council of the City of Redwood City that <br />said agreement for expenditure of the 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for State high- <br />ways be and the same is hereby approved, and the Mayor and the City Clerk are <br />directed to sign the same on behalf of said city. <br />ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 1948. <br />W.
