Councilman Britschgi asked if he was
deleting any of the requests of department heads. City Manager Rolison stated he
would show what they requested and what he had deleted.
CITY MANAGER FOLISON REQUESTED AUTHORITY TO EXCEED ORIGINAL ESTIMATE ON EXPENDITURE
FOR PILE DRIVING FOR SE1fAGE TREATdENT PLANT as this will exceed original bid by
quite a substantial amount (to Mr. Early). Tests are being made now, by Frost &
Brian, County Engineer, City Engineer Jain and City Manager Rolison to determine
to what depth piles should be driven. Councilman Morgan asked how bids were offered.
City Manager stated the bid on the Sewage Treatment Plant was on 20 foot piling with
the understanding that unit cost bid was to apply for piling driven over 20 feet, and
it has been found necessary to drive piling to different depths in different spots.
Fortunately Mr. Early's unit cost bid was low.
