Due to the canflicting opinions on the histarical significance af the three structures and the fact that the City has not made a final determination as to whether these structures sho�ald be included on its historical resources register, the City is treating the 425 Broadway building, #he plaza area with the Warnecice Fountains, and the Ampex sign as potential histaric resources for the purposes of tf�e Draft EIR pursuant ta CEQA Guidelines section 1�064,5�a){4). The demo�ition af these struc#ures wou�d constit�te a substan#ial adverse change in the sig�ificance of potential IIiS�OfIC resources, and also contribute to cumulative impacts on histaric resources. Mitigation: Mitigation 14-1. The praject shall inc�rporate design elements within the p�blicly accessible areas of the project that point to the various important periods af land use on the site (farming, flower fields, airfield, a�d center for technology innovation). The applicant has agreed to inco�porate these elemer�ts regardless af whether the City ultimately determines that the proposed project would causa a significant impact on historic resources, and these slements are included in the Draft Stanford in Redwood Citv Precise Plan. Any structure on the pro�ect development site tha# tf�e City determines is a local historic resource shall be photographed and doc�menfed prior to demolitioR ar removal. The documentation shall adhere to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Arcf�itectural and EngEneering Documentation. The levek of documentation shall be proportio�ate with the level of significance of the resource. The documentation shall be made a�ailable for inclusion in the H�storic American Building Survey (HABS} or the Historic American Engineerir�g Record (HAER} Collections in the Library of Congress, the California Historical Resources Information System and the Bancroft Library, as wel! as local libraries and historical societies, such as the Redwood City Public Library. Through careful rr�ethods of pla�ned deconstruction to a►►Qid damage and 1ass, identified historic character-defining features and materials shall be salvaged as feasible for educational and interpreti�e use on-site, or for reuse in new construction on the development site in a way that commemorates their original use and significance.
