These fac#s are described in Draft <br /> EIR chapter 14 (Cul#ural a�d Historic Resources) on pages 14-1 through 14-18, <br /> chapt�r 18 (Alternatives to the Propased Project) on pages 18-1 through 78-28, <br /> and appendix 21.7 (Peer Review of Ampex Property), which are hereby <br /> incorporated by reference. <br /> Impact: Impact 14-2: Potential Disturbance of Archaeolagical or Paleontological <br /> Resources. Prflject construction {e.g., exca�ation far �nderground parking and <br /> utilities} could sfisturb existing unrecarded sensitive archaeologica� or <br /> paleontological resources at the de�elopment site. <br /> Mitigation: Mitigation 14-2. The project applicant shall carry out the following measures, <br /> which shalf be at least as protective as those listed in the City's CulturaE <br /> Resaurces Managemen# Plan: <br /> {�) Canstrucfron Personnel Education Program. The project applica�tt shall <br /> implement an education pragram, prepared by a qualified archaeologist ar�d a <br /> qualified paleontologist, for constr�ction personnel that iRCludes #�e following <br /> elements: <br /> ■ Resource identification training procedures#or construction personnel; <br /> ■ Procedures for coordinating wor�C with the archaealogical monitor (see <br /> below); and <br /> ■ Procedures for reporting disca�eries. <br /> {2) Procedures for Resources Encountered During Constnrctiorr. The project <br /> applicant shall pravide an ArchaeoEogical Mo�itoring and Data Recovery <br /> Program (AMDRP) prepared by a qualified archaeologist and outlining <br /> procedures for resaurces encountered during constr�ction. 7he AMDRP shall <br /> include specific measures to insure compl�a�ce with 5tate Public Resources <br /> Code section 5097.98 and CEQA Guidelines section �5064.5{d) and (e} in the <br /> event that human remains are encountered. <br /> (3) A qualified archaeological manitor wil� visit the site for spot-checks during <br /> exca�ations exceeding five feet in c�epth belaw current grade. <br /> If subsurFace archaeofogical resources ate encountered, excavation shall halt in <br /> the vicinity of the resources, and the archaeological monitoring shall evaluate the <br /> reso�rce and its stratigraphic context.
