If disturbance of an archaeoiogical resource cannot be avoided, the mitigation <br /> program described in the AMDRP, including measure� set forth in the City's <br /> CRMP and in compliar�ce with sections 15064.5 and 95126.4 of the CEQA <br /> Guidelines, shall be implemented. <br /> If subsurface paleontological resources are encountered,exca�atian shaE� haft in <br /> the vicinity of the resources and the project paleon#ologist shall evaluate the <br /> resource and its stratigraphic context. The monitor shall be empowered to <br /> temporarily halt or redirect construction activities to ensure avoidance of adverse <br /> impacts ta paleontological resources. During monitoring, if potent3ally significant <br /> paleontological resources are fflund, "standard" samples shal! be collected and <br /> �rocessed by a qualified paleontologist to recover micro r►ertebrate fossils. �f <br /> sign�cant fossils are found and callected, they shall be prepared to a reasonable <br /> point of identificatian. Excess sedimen# or matrix shall be removed from the <br /> specimens to reduce the bulk and cost o# storage. ftemized catalogs of material <br /> collected and identifed shall be provided to a museum repasitory with the <br /> specimens. Significant fossils collected during this work, along with the itemized <br /> in�entory of these specimens, shall be depasifed in a muse�m repository for <br /> permanent curation and stofage. A report documenting the results of the <br /> monitoring and salvage activities, and the significance of#he fossils, if any, shall <br /> be prepared. The report and Enventory, when submitted to the fead agency, shall <br /> signify the completion of the program to mitigate impacts on paleontologica! <br /> resaurces. <br /> Firiding: Implementation of Mitigation 14-2 would reduce #he �otential impact on <br /> archaeological and paleontalogical resources to a less-than-sigrr�cant level. <br /> Facts in Su�port of Fir�ding: Implementation of Mitigation 14-2 woufd reduce the potential <br /> impact on unrecorded archaealogical and paleontological resources to a less- <br /> than-significant level by implementing detailed procedures by a qualified <br /> archaeologist and qualified palean#ologist which are at least as protective as <br /> those procedures listed in the City af Redwaod City Cultural Resources <br /> Management Plan.
