Port of Redwood City Draft 10-Year Capital Improvement Plan and <br /> Update on the Wharves 1&2 Reconstruction Project <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Discuss Port's 10-year CIP, request any additional information, and <br /> continue coordination with the Port Commission. <br /> Mr. Giari, Port Executive Director, provided the update for the Port of Redwood City's <br /> Capital Improvement Program (CIP) (presentation on file). <br /> Vice Mayor Gee spoke in favor of having more dialogue and discussion between the <br /> City and the Port in looking at ways to coordinate, collaborate and leverage money and <br /> resources. A Council Member wants to look at leveraging economic opportunities and <br /> land uses at the Port. Another Council Member wants to look at Docktown Marina in <br /> terms of speaking with Mark Sanders and looking at a green marina approach, which <br /> includes looking at a future ferry terminal; the cost and benefits of managing marinas <br /> together rather than apart including infrastructure. <br /> Mr. Giari provided further information on the CIP plan for modernization and improving <br /> existing structures and he also noted that Cynthia Hampton, Director of Finance for the <br /> Port of Redwood City, and two Port Commissioners were present in the audience. <br /> Mayor Aguirre said that she looks forward to the City and the Port working together <br /> more closely on shared opportunities. Dr. Bell noted that he and Mr. Giari will continue <br /> to work together on shared analysis and economic opportunities between the City and <br /> the Port to bring back to the City Council. Dr. Bell also noted that Mr. Giari was here at <br /> the request of the Mayor and Vice Mayor thanked him for being very receptive and for <br /> coming here to present. <br /> D. Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redwood City Approving <br /> and Adopting the City of Redwood City Climate Action Plan <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Adopt by resolution the City of Redwood City Climate Action Plan. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15258 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> TO ADOPT THE REDWOOD CITY CLIMATE ACTION PLAN <br /> Dr. Bell said this is the culmination of work done by a Council Subcommittee composed <br /> of Council Members Bain and Pierce along with some staff inembers. They have <br /> revised the former plan to include specific and measurable objectives, which includes <br /> having the City take the lead for good stewardship in being able to leverage our <br /> resources and partner with others doing the same thing. Dr. Bell also acknowledged <br /> and thanked various staff for their work on this, which included Vicki Sherman, who will <br /> later provide the presentation, Deanna LaCroix, and Audrey Seymour Ramberg.
