As you may recall, on May 31,
2012, Redwood City planning and traffic engineering staff inet with you and your staff to
see if C/CAG had any input on the significant unavoidable Woodside Road intersection
impacts (Draft EIR impacts/mitigations 7-1, 7-2, 7-5 7-6, 7-12, 7-13, 7-14) and US 101
freeway ramp impacts (Draft EIR impacts/mitigations 7-11 and 7-19) identified in the
Draft EIR for the Stanford in Redwood City Precise Plan. As you will see from the
responses below, the recommendations raised in your June 5, 2012 letter have already
been addressed/ mitigated in the Draft EIR and/or Precise Plan for the Stanford in
Redwood City Project.
1. CCAG input: Consider requiring the developer to contribute additional funds to the
City's Traffic Impact Fee to be reserved specifically for the future Woodside
Road/US 101 Interchange.
Staff's response: The developer will be making contributions into the City's
Transportation Impact Fee to mitigate cumulative impacts at the intersections of
Woodside Road with Veterans Boulevard and Broadway, which could be part of the
Woodside/US101 interchange project. Depending on the timing of the interchange
project and needed improvements to the intersections of Woodside Road with
Veterans Boulevard and Broadway, contributions to the Transportation Impact Fee
could be used for the interchange project which is a project listed in the
Transportation Impact Mitigation Fee Program.
2. CCAG input: Consider mitigating potential impacts to other parallel and connecting
streets and intersections outside the immediate vicinity of the development area that
have not yet been identified but which may be directly impacted by increased traffic
as a result of motorist taking alternative routes due to increased congestion on US-
101.
