Mr. Church advised that the Commercial
Development item had been used as a contingency fund and subtracting $30,000 would not
affect any current or proposed projects.
-
Senior Planner Jany described the subject report as a joint effort of Library Director
Light, Redevelopment Agency Director Church, Community Development Director
Nelson, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Cultural Commission, Building
Maintenance people, and Fire Department personnel Senior Planner Jany showed a slide
of the building's proposed floor plan and described the layout.
Agency Board members and staff thoroughly discussed the sprinkler system in the
building at 2625 Broadway. In response to Director Sanfilipo's questions Community
Development Director Nelson explained alternatives the City Council (not the Agency
Board) could grant to further assist the RC.A.C., including a waiver of the $4,200 hook-
up fee to the City's main line, based upon an agreement calling for repayment if building
converts to a for-profit use, or a long term repayment schedule. Whether that would be a
subsidy to RC.A.C. or the property owners would be up to the Council to decide.
In response to Director Sanfilipo's questions regarding the terms of the lease, Senior
Planner Jany advised that the lease was for an initial six years and renewable for terms
not less than four years. Mr. Jany advised that Exhibit A attached to the staff report was a
1st draft which no longer contained the correct information, and under consideration were
the recommendations in the Report submitted to the Agency Board for this meeting.
- MINUTE BOOK NO. 52
Regular Redevelopment Agency Meeting Minutes Page No. 237
December 12, 1994
Page 3
