8.B. - Page 74
4.13.2.1 Population and Housing Impacts
Implementation of the proposed project would replace one residential unit with five new dwelling
units. The increase in housing would slightly increase the residential population of Redwood City
above current levels. The increase, however, represents a less than one percent increase (based on
the City's current average number of individuals per household34)in the total City population and is
not considered to be substantial.
The project would not displace a substantial number of houses or persons and would not require
replacement housing to be constructed. Furthermore, the increase in housing would have very
minimal though slightly beneficial effect on the overall jobs/housing imbalance in the City.
Implementation of the proposed project would have no impact on population and housing in
Redwood City. (No Impact)
4.13.3 Conclusion
Implementation of the proposed project would have no impact on population and housing. (No
Impact)
34The average household size in Redwood City in 2010 was 2.69 persons per household(Department of Finance
2010 Census Data).
1410 Valota Road Residential Project 62 Initial Study
Redwood City January 2012
