8.B. - Page 223 <br /> Commissioner Borgens asked if this is exactly the same project that came before the <br /> Commission previously, and if nothing has changed. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated that is correct. <br /> Commissioner Borgens asked what the parking requirements were <br /> Mr. Lyon stated there are two garage spaces per residential unit, and in some shaded in areas <br /> there is driveway approaches and additional guest parking. <br /> Commissioner Borgens stated there is guest parking. She asked if there is no parking on the <br /> driveway. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated that is correct for the private roadway. <br /> Commissioner Borgens asked if there are future plans to revisit Valota from Woodside to <br /> Redwood regarding the speeding issues. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated that he is not aware of that. He stated there is a concern that because of the <br /> narrow roadway and street parking, that causes a challenge, but it is also a good mechanism <br /> to typically help cars slow down. <br /> Commissioner Radcliffe asked if it can be required that the residents use the garage for their <br /> cars. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated that it is required that the garage is maintained as available to park, but if <br /> someone chooses to put something there like a storage bin, it's not something that would be <br /> monitored and enforced. He stated there could be regulations around permanent <br /> improvements to the garage that would preclude residents from parking there. <br /> Commissioner Radcliffe noted the mention of the businesses in the area. She asked if there <br /> is code for businesses for where their business vehicles can go. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated there are some requirements about commercial vehicle parking and where <br /> they are allowed, etc., but that does not regulate customers or patrons that park in the <br /> neighborhood. <br /> Chair Schmidt asked about commercial vehicles parking on the street, and if that still falls <br /> under the 72 hour rule. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated the Municipal Code has some provisions that talk about certain areas in the <br /> City where there is not commercial parking in residential districts. <br /> Chair Schmidt asked about the dip on Silver and if that is a traffic-calming measure. <br /> Mr. Lyon stated it is probably a storm drain thing and not so much for traffic calming. He <br /> stated because of the crown of the street, and the drainage, there are various dips to move <br /> drainage into the storm drain. <br /> Chair Schmidt asked if he can request the Planning Department follow up with Ms. Duran on <br /> that issue. <br /> Page 3 of 13 <br />
