__ . ._ _ _......,.
• Actual truck volumes based on operations, including variances over the day, from
month to month, and year to year based on construction activities, economic
cycles, and business trends.
• Mapping of truck paths at the interchange and alternate routes for both inbound
and outbound trucks.
• Specific issues truckers face using the interchange and local streets accessing
it.
• Future business projections and corresponding projections in truck traffic.
• Ideas for improvements.
• The draft will be submitted to the city of Redwood City, for review. Review
comments will be incorporated into the final version of the questionnaire.
The questionnaire will be distributed to operations representatives at
Graniterock, Lyngso Garden Materials, Peninsula Building Materials, Sims Metal
Management, Cemex Cement, Cemex Aggregates, Central Concrete, and
SRDC Recycling.
• 2. After the questionnaires are distributed, Fehr& Peers will conduct follow-up calls
to ensure that the recipient understands the questionnaire and the data that is
being requested and to schedule a time to discuss their responses. Fehr & Peers
will communicate with the city if any of the representatives are non-responsive to
discuss the appropriate recourse.
• 3. Once the filled out questionnaires and the associated data are received, Fehr&
Peers and Paul Krupka (schedule permitting) with conduct phone interviews with
the representatives to discuss any missing data, data that is unclear, and their
questions or concerns.
• 4. Fehr & Peers will prepare interview summaries and make observations about
common or unusual observations/conditions. The summaries will be presented in
a memorandum. Fehr& Peers will use truck data as provided to identify variances
throughout the day and year. Depending on how the data is provided to Fehr &
Peers, the truck volume variances will be provided via graphs or as a narrative
discussion in the memorandum.
• 5. The results will be compared to the truck counts to determine whether they
represent "typical" conditions. If not, adjustments to the truck volumes to be used
in the analysis will be discussed with City staff and URS. The truck counts
conducted as discussed above, and any adjustments resulting from information
collected as part of the interviews will be presented in refined tabular and graphic
forms showing truck volumes on freeway segments, roadway segments and
intersection turning movements in the Existing Conditions Report. The Existing
Conditions Report will also include the conclusions regarding common or unusual
observations/conditions from the memorandum in Task 4 above.
• 6. Fehr & Peers will use provided truck projections in the future year traffic
operations analyses. Truck projections will be presented graphically showing truck
ATTY/AGR/2014/AMENDMENTS/AMEND N0.1 URS CORPORATION
REV:08-18-14 VR
