Sub consultant work Under Task 2 and 3
Staheli Trenchiess Scope of Work
Sub consultant Staheli Trenchless will play a major role in the design of this project. Their
scope of work ineludes reviewing the Preliminary Design Report and providing tunneling means
and methodology based on the Preliminary Design Report and geotechnical information
gathered during the pre-design phase. Staheli Trenchless will also provide tunneling related
plans and specifications used for the construction documents.
Geotechnical Scope of Work
The Geatechnical Engineer Geotechnical Consultants Ina (GTC) will investigate the hydraulic
conductivity of the soils above and across the tunneling zone at both ends of the proposed
alignment (no data can be collected from under the traveled way of US101). Scope elements
include:
1. Review available geotechnical and geologic information for the project site and vicinity
and assess hydraulic conductivity (permeability) ranges for #he soil strata at the tunnel
elevation, based on available geotechnical information (boring logs done by others at the
jacking and receiving shafts).
2. Address constructability considerations and provide an opinion on the anticipated risks
associated with the tunneling activity, based on geotechnical considerations.
3. Participate in team meetings, discussions, and conference calls as required to support
the design team.
Surveying Scope
During the pre-design phase, Consultant's surveyor will perform the following tasks:
1. Collect horizontal location and vertical elevations of pipelines 24-inches in diameter or
larger in the project area to be potholed by others. Elevations of other potholed utilities
will be determined from data collected by potholing stafF in the field.
2. Update utility location and elevation information in proposed project area on base map
provided by the City.
3. Collect horizontal and elevation information for locafions of center and extents of
proposed new concrete vaults.
4. Horizontal data to be provided as coordinate farmat indicating northings and eastings of
each reference point in state planer coordinate system.
5. Elevations will be tied to existing City Bench Mark network.
6. Results to be supplied in standard AutoCAD format.
The drawing submitted under Task 2 are intended to identify plan layout for the proposed
Walnut Street Interceptor crossing of Highway 101, and will include property lines, utilities, and
locations of special connections. A specification table of contents will be provided at the pre-
design stage. Plans will be provided in both .pdf format, and a specification outline will be
submitted in MS Word. In addition, the submittal will contain the Risk Register; engineer's
REV: 12-05-13 VR
ATTY/AG R.2413.240!Ken n ed yJ e n ks_237900
