7.2.E. - Page 6 <br /> a. The contract may be awarded to the bidder whom the City determines will best meet <br /> the interests of the City. <br /> b. In determining the award, careful consideration by City shall be given to each item of <br /> the bid. <br /> c. The City reserves the right to amend or reject any or all proposals and also to select, <br /> modify, or reject any of the bid items as the City sees in its best interest. <br /> d. Whenever quantities of individual items are involved the City reserves the right to <br /> make single awards or separate items in an aggregate of several items to various <br /> vendors. <br /> 7. GUARANTEE <br /> The Supplier warrants and guarantees that all equipment, materials, vehicles or supplies used <br /> or furnished and all workmanship are of the type and quality specified herein. The Supplier <br /> further guarantees that any latent fault in construction or defective material discovered within <br /> one year after acceptance of the work shall be remedied by Supplier without cost to the City, <br /> upon written notice given to Supplier. Other subsequent latent defects shall be covered by <br /> responsibilities set forth in the law. <br /> In the event of failure to comply with the above-mentioned conditions within a reasonable <br /> time after notice, the City will have the defects repaired and made good at the expense of the <br /> Supplier, who agrees to pay the costs and charges therefore immediately upon demand. <br /> The signing of this agreement by the Supplier shall constitute agreement to the above <br /> guarantees. <br /> 8. WARRANTY <br /> The warranty on all vehicles and cab and chassis shall be the standard manufacturer's warranty <br /> for 36 months or 36,000 miles. The warranty on all service bodies, lifts and other components <br /> specified on the individual specifications sheets shall be a minimum of 12 months parts and <br /> labor. Bidders should specify any additional warranties offered on specific vehicles. <br /> 9. REGISTRATION OF VEHICLE <br /> It is the responsibility of the Supplier to act on behalf of the City and submit all required <br /> registration forms and supporting documentation to the Department of Motor Vehicles in <br /> order to obtain exempt license plates for each vehicle purchased from the Supplier. <br /> 10. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT <br /> The Supplier shall prepare all articles and materials for shipment in such a manner as to protect <br /> them from damage in transit, and shall be responsible for and repair all damaged parts or <br /> replace all losses incurred in transit to the designated delivery point and not later than the <br /> specified delivery date.When necessary,heavy parts shall be mounted on skids or crated, and <br /> all articles or materials that might otherwise be lost shall be boxed or wired in bundles. All <br /> articles shall be plainly marked for identification and destination. The Supplier shall prepare <br /> proper commercial bills of lading two (2) copies of which, together with a complete shipping <br /> list, shall be sent to Redwood City Fleet, 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063. <br /> 4 <br />
