Does the project have the potential to degrade the
quality of the environment, substantially reduce the
habitat of a fish or wildlife species, cause a fish or
wildlife population to drop below self-sustaining
levels, threaten to eliminate a plant or animal
community, reduce the number or restrict the range of x
a rare or endangered plant or animal or eliminate
important examples of the major periods of California
history or prehistory?
b. Does the project have impacts that are
individually limited, but cumulatively
considerable?("Cumulatively considerable" means that
the incremental effects of a project are considerable
when viewed in connection with the effects of past
projects, the effects of other current projects, and the
effects of probable future projects)?
c. Does the project have environmental effects which will
cause substantial adverse effects on human beings,
either directly or indirectly?
ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSION: With implementation of the mitigation measures recommended in this
document and summarized on the following page, potential environmental impacts associated with the
Redwood City Recycled Water Project will be reduced to a less than significant level. Implementation of
the project with mitigation measures, therefore, would result in the minimum environmental impacts.
RECOMMENDED MITIGATION MEASURES FOR
REDWOOD CITY RECYCLED WATER PROJECT
AESTHETICS
• Off-site recycled water storage reservoirs would be partially buried, if necessary, and screened
with appropriate landscaping. Off-site pump stations would be enclosed within an
architecturally and acoustically treated structure and screened with landscaping. If minor
modifications to the assumptions about the locations and design of reservoirs and pump
stations occur through the design process, the City will determine if supplemental
environmental review is required for those modifications.
AIR QUALITY
• Construction vehicles shall be properly maintained and tuned to minimize exhaust emissions.
33
