She is encouraged by the Climate Action Plan and <br /> opined that if there was truly concern about the Climate Action Plan, they would look at <br /> development along the entire waterfront, including Peter's Harbor. <br /> M/S Seybert/Bain to adopt the resolution. Motion carries unanimously by electronic <br /> vote 7-0. <br /> One Council Member provided clarification on the number of various types of housing <br /> units being produced in Redwood City, and stated that while she values activism, she <br /> opined that Bair Island would have been left unrestored had it not been for Council <br /> investing funds into it and she encouraged others to not throw rocks, but to work with <br /> the City Council. <br /> 9. MINUTE ORDER 13-080 <br /> Mayor Aguirre announced she had formed an Ad Hoc General Plan committee <br /> composed of herself and Council Member Pierce. <br /> One Council Member requested the City Attorney provide clarification regarding the <br /> Brown Act for everyone's benefit. Ms. Thompson clarified that it is acceptable for <br /> Council to attend certain events and they may talk about Redwood City in a general way <br /> about any items that are not coming before the Council for business at their meetings. <br /> The same Council Member noted that the Council is required to attend ethics training <br /> every two years and opined that there is a distinct difference between being heard and <br /> getting one's way. <br /> Another Council Member said this Council appreciates those who worked hard on the <br /> restoration of Bair Island, especially the work done by Ralph and Karen Noble, and that <br /> they understand what was done in the past, but that this land would have been left <br /> undeveloped today if not for the work done by City Council. <br /> Vice Mayor Gee said that on behalf of the Mayor and Council, he attended a volunteer <br /> appreciation lunch at the Senior Center last week with over 200 volunteers.
