Mr. Hunter said their marketing office will have full size renderings of the project with <br /> boards in the window so that as people go up and down along Theater Way, they will be <br /> able to see everything that was shown tonight. <br /> One Council Member suggested there be some version of the video on a loop on a big <br /> screen in their marketing office and Mr. Hunter agreed that this is a good idea. This <br /> Council Member also positively commented on the amendments/changes to the plan <br /> and wanting a 24-hour vibrant downtown where people can enjoy it. Another Council <br /> Member commented that shared parking is critical to Downtown success and setting the <br /> pace for the future. She spoke positively about Mr. Hunter paying prevailing wage, <br /> using local contractors and consultants, using the City as the point of sale. She also <br /> thanked staff for working on things like planting of trees in Mr. Herkner's honor, moving <br /> the plaque and the world class artistic touches. <br /> Vice Mayor Gee's spoke in favor of the amendments for the removal of the Depot Circle <br /> concept and the Theater Way extension due to the changes regarding the blended train <br /> system being at grade. He spoke of the importance of Caltrain with 50,000 riders a day <br /> and having this type of space within walking distance to both Caltrain and Samtrans. <br /> He expressed thanks to all for realizing the visioning process that first started over 16 <br /> years ago with the Downtown Precise Plan. <br /> Mayor Aguirre said her Council colleagues have said it all and spoke in favor of <br /> ensuring there is housing along transportation while noting. She spoke about working <br /> towards having public art between the buildings. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. Adopt a Resolution Considering an Initial Study Checklist and Approving <br /> Amendments to the Downtown Precise Plan, and <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15287 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AMENDING THE DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN <br /> M/S Seybert/Pierce to adopt the Resolution. Motion carries unanimously by <br /> electronic vote 7-0. <br /> 2. Adopt a Resolution Considering an Initial Study Checklist and Approving a Vesting <br /> Tentative Parcel Map and a Downtown Planned Community Permit for a New <br /> Development Consisting of approximately 300,000 square feet of office space and <br /> 5,075 square feet of restaurant space, and <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15288 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> APPROVING A VESTING TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP AND A DOWNTOWN PLANNED <br /> COMMUNITY PERMIT FOR 950 MIDDLEFIELD ROAD <br /> M/S Foust/Seybert to adopt the Resolution.
