I I . . .. <br /> Former Redwood City Council Member and Mayor Daniela Devincenzi, 269 Ruby <br /> Avenue, San Carlos, introduced Andy Frisch, incoming President of Redwood City <br /> - International, Board members Mike Giari, Lou Miller, Pete and Paula Uccelli, and Georgi <br /> LaBerge. Mrs. Devincenzi described Redwood City International's trip to Mexico, and <br /> spoke in support of a new Sister City relationship with Colima. Mrs. Devincenzi advised <br /> they were not seeking funds ITom the City, and the delegates who will travel to Colima for <br /> the ceremony will do so at their own expense. She thanked former Council Member <br /> Georgi LaBerge who spearheaded the committee that explored the idea of another Sister <br /> City, and ultimately suggested Colima, Mexico. <br /> Council Member Claire stated that he grew up in East Redwood City and still had lots of <br /> relatives and friends there, and he was thrilled the City was establishing a relationship with <br /> Colima, Mexico. <br /> Mayor Howard thanked Executive Assistant Pat Valentine for her efforts and the great <br /> deal of time and energy she has put into the Sister City program. <br /> MIS: CLAIREIRUSKIN TO APPROVE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FORMAL SISTER <br /> CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH COLIMA, MEXICO AND NEIGHBORING CITIES. <br /> CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE. <br /> AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS CLAIRE, HARTNETT, IRA, RUSKIN AND MAYOR <br /> HOWARD <br /> - NOES: COUNCIL MEMBER LEIPZIG. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 98-030 <br /> C.
