7. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST A. Deed and Indenture Committee, American Legion, Council Member Claire (210) Council Member Claire reported that he had attended an American Legion Deed and Indenture Committee meeting earlier in the evening, and had been advised that the Board needed a Council Member to serve on the Board. He said the Board must have one City Council Member and one representative that had not been a Veteran, and he filled that "other shoe." Mayor Howard requested that Council Members interested in volunteering for this position contact her. MEMO 1/26/98 B. P. G. & E. Response to Power Outage, Mayor Howard (203) Mayor Howard complimented P. G. & E. for responding so quickly to the recent power outage in Redwood City. She said Redwood City's representative, Colma Mayor Helen Fisacaro, worked closely with Redwood City Dispatch to provide excellent information and service to the people in the affected area. Celebration Honoring Former Council Member Georgi La Berge, Mayor Howard (203) Mayor Howard announced there would be a celebration honoring former Council Member Georgi La Berge at the Pacific Athletic Club at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 30. She said the cost was $20 per person, and she encouraged Council Members, staff, and members of the community to attend. MEMO 1/26/98 E.
