• <br /> " (c) Promotion of a higher and more uniform quality <br /> living environment throughout the community ; <br /> " (d) Protection of the land purchaser and of the <br /> general public from unnecessary expense due to the necessity <br /> of correcting substandard and faulty design features . <br /> "Section 30 . 115. Conformity to Specific Area Plans . <br /> The design standards for a subdivision shall be consistent <br /> with the design intent of the specific area plan, if any, <br /> which have been adopted for the area within which the <br /> subdivision lies. <br /> "Section 30 . 116. Miscellaneous Standards. (a) Sewage <br /> Disposal. The size of mains , laterals , and appurtenances <br /> for public sanitary sewers shall be in accordance with City <br /> specifications . The Department of Public Works may require <br /> the oversizing of such facilities to serve subdivisions beyond <br /> the proposed subdivision . <br /> " (b) Water Supply. The source of water for all subdivision: <br /> in the City shall be the City water system. The sizing of mains <br /> and service lines , and the design of the system shall be in <br /> accordance with City specifications and shall be to the approval <br /> of the Department of Public Works and the Fire Chief. The <br /> location of all fire hydrants shall also be to the approval of <br /> the Department of Public Works and the Fire Chief. <br /> " (c) Fire Alarm Boxes. The location, type, and number <br /> of fire alarm boxes shall be to the approval of the Fire Chief <br /> and shall be installed by the subdivider . <br /> " (d) Public Utilities. Utility easements for gas , <br /> underground electrical and communications distribution services <br /> shall be provided by the subdivider for a proposed subdivision. <br />
