STAFF REPORTS <br /> A. Agreement between the County of San Mateo and the City of Redwood City for Fire <br /> Protection Services for the Fire Protection sub-zone of San Mateo County Service Area #8. <br /> (304,705) <br /> REPORT: Fire Chief Montez, October 6,1997 <br /> Fire Chief Montez presented the staff report. He provided the background on Redwood <br /> City's service to Area 8 for the past 40 years, the average cost of emergency calls, and the <br /> agreement with the County to match the offer of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District. <br />- <br /> In response to Council questions, City Manager Everett and Community Development <br /> Direetor Nelson said the plans for retrofitting or rebuilding Fire Station 11 were included <br /> in the FY 1999/2000 CIP budget, and costs and completion dates would be based on the <br /> results of engineering reports. <br /> In response to Council questions, Fire Chief Montez described the requirement in the <br /> agreement of a three minute and thirty second response time 90% of the time for Code 3, <br /> and his belief this would be aehieved with a few response modifieations. Fire Chief <br /> Montez and City Attorney Sehricker described the penalties contained in the agreement <br /> for non performance. <br /> MIS: HOWARD/BUCHAN.
