Couneilman Leipzig referred to Governor Wilson's recent actions to prohibit illegal <br /> aliens from receiving subsidized housing. He asked staff to provide a brief report "on the <br /> impact of this executive order or legislation that had to do with, I believe, Proposition 187, <br /> but I'm not 100% sure, and the illegal aliens that may be in our state and particularly in <br /> Redwood City, in this case, that are receiving some form of subsidized housing. I think it <br /> was strictly renters, illegal aliens. Review of the <br /> completed traffic study and mitigation measures for the office building and consideration <br /> of alternatives; (100) <br /> REPORT: Senior Planner Tom Passanisi, November 17, 1997 <br /> Senior Planner Passanisi presented the staff report and background of the project, which <br /> began in 1992 with the Lido Specific Plan, a totally residential project at that time. He <br /> showed slides of the region and the proposed buffer zone located between the Lido <br /> residential area and the SBSA sewage treatment plant. Senior Planner Passanisi described <br /> the zoning change in 1993 when Council approved the "CG" designation for the southeast <br /> corner of the Lido property at the request of SBSA, which requested a commercial buffer <br /> between its sewage treatment plant and the Lido residential units. <br /> Senior Planner Passanisi said that in June of 1997, the City received an application for a <br /> 115,000 square foot four story office building for that site, and it was approved.
