<br /> - - <br /> In response to Couneil Member Hartnett's questions regarding the ability of Council <br /> - Members to lobby for a particular vendor, City Attorney Schrieker said, "Under the Joint <br /> Powers Agreement there is an implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; and, <br /> consequently, my recommendation would be that if you were to do that, it should be <br /> coordinated through the Joint Powers authority... As individuals you are entitled to <br /> exercise discretion in your prerogative." <br /> City Manager Croee said the JPA did not want to "de facto choose the next provider for <br /> the County." <br /> Mayor Howard called upon those members of the audience who wished to speak to this <br /> issue. <br /> Redwood City Fire Captain Anderson thanked the Council for supporting the <br /> Paramedics Program, in general. He said that Redwood City Firefighters have wanted to <br /> be part of that service for 15 years, and paramedic services were becoming part of the <br /> standard of care throughout the country. Captain Anderson thanked Vice Mayor Ruskin <br /> for his hard work in this area. Captain Anderson said that the Fire NetSix dispatch system <br /> has worked extremely well and "we are head and shoulders above the northern part ofthis <br /> County in that respect."
