The Chamber/School proposal concerning the Library is an important opportunity to promote the partnership between the business community, the school system and City government. 2. Investigate more teen centers: including increased attention to at-risk teens: look for more opportunities for vouth. 3. The Youth Advisorv Board (YAB) will be used to gather input and promote participation ITom middle school and high school vouth. (2 Council Members) - 4. Continue positive cooperation with elementarv school district/share resources. 5. Promote Redwood CitY Elementary School Board Election for June 1997. Help with the School Bond election. 6. Make sure the Redwood Shores Neighborhood Center has good progranuning for youth and seniors. 7. Insure/coordinate the use of athletic fields in Redwood Shores neighborhood with the overall Redwood CitY sports program. 8. Support PAL and DARE. 9. Promote business investment in vouth. Council discussion ensued. CONSENSUS: Mayor Hartnett determined it was the consensus of the Council to combine Items 2 and 3 into one Item; combine Items 1,4,5 and 9 into one Item; and move Item 8 to --- the Public Safety category.
