<br /> Community Relations <br /> 1. The City Council will schedule a Council meeting in the Redwood Shores <br /> neighborhood. The Council will evaluate the benefit of such meetings in the future. <br /> 2. The City Council wants to contribute to the strength of the neighborhood association <br /> system. Individual members are encouraged to select one or more appropriate <br /> neighborhood associations, attend meetings regularly and report back to the City <br /> Council. <br /> 3. The City Council is interested in reviewing other models of labor/management <br /> negotiations. The City Council needs to establish a Dolicv on who conducts <br /> negotiations with the labor unions. <br /> 4. The editorial board will examine the public relations aspect of the City. <br /> 5. With the assistance of the new assistant to the Citv Manager. examine new wavs of <br /> getting accurate and uD-to-date information about the City into manv different <br /> information sources/Dublications. <br /> 6. Establish a charter review commission to review charter and to develoD <br /> recommendations. <br /> 7. Establish a neighborhood imDrovement fund for neighborhood associations to comDete <br /> for grants. <br /> 8. Establish a task force to deal with the concerns identified bv Redwood City 2000. <br /> Provide assistance to the task force in aDDlving for grants to SUDDort its work. <br /> Council discussion ensued. <br /> CONSENSUS: Mayor Hartnett determined it was the consensus of the Council to <br /> combine Items 1, 2 and 7 into one Item; combine Items 4 and 5 into one Item; use <br /> committee in place of commission in Item 6; and use mechanism in place of task force in <br /> Item 8. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 97-043 <br /> Public Safety <br /> I.
