B.A. - Page 162 Pete's Harbor
uiry or rceawooa illy Revised EIR Addendum
January 22, 2014 Page 1-3
1.1 PURPOSE OF THIS REPORT
This report has been prepared by the City of Redwood City (the Lead Agency) as Revised
Addendum No. 2 to the July 2003 Final Environmental Impact Report for the Marina Shores
Village Project (2003 EIR) pursuant to section 15164 (Addendum to an EIR or Negative
Declaration) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. This Addendum
describes the changes and additions to the 2003 EIR necessary to achieve CEQA compliance
for the currently proposed Pete's Harbor Residential Community project. The proposed Pete's
Harbor Residential Community project evaluated in this Addendum is a reduced version of one
component of the 2003 EIR.
On July 8, 2003, the City of Redwood City (the City) certified the 2003 EIR. The 2003 EIR
consisted of two volumes: (1) a February 2003 Draft EIR, and (2) a June 2003 Final EIR.2 The
2003 EIR addressed the environmental implications of a proposed project occupying an
approximately 46.45-acre site comprised of two non-contiguous properties located in the Bair
Island Road area of the City--the approximately 33.24-acre Peninsula Marina property and the
approximately 13.21-acre Pete's Harbor property. The project addressed in the 2003 EIR (2003
EIR project) consisted of a mix of approximately 1,930 housing units, 300,000 square feet of
office space and 12,000 square feet of commercial (retail and restaurant) space in an array of
buildings, including thirteen 18- to 23-story residential towers (maximum height: 260 feet),
numerous 2- to 9-story residential flats, townhouses, and commercial buildings, and
approximately 5.46 acres of marina. The 2003 EIR project applicant was Glenborough-Pauls,
LLC.
The 2003 EIR addressed the following environmental topics:
Land Use,
Visual Factors,
Population, Housing, and Employment,
Transportation and Circulation,
Biological Resources,
Hydrology and Water Quality,
Infrastructure and Public Services,
Soils and Geology,
Public Health and Safety,
Noise,
Cultural and Historic Resources,
Air Quality,
Project Consistency With Adopted Plans And Policies, and
Alternatives to the Proposed Project.
'The CEQA Guidelines define the "Lead Agency" as the public agency that has the principal
responsibility for carrying out or approving a project.
2The two separate documents that constitute the 2003 EIR, the February 2003 Draft EIR and June
2003 Final EIR for the Marina Shores Village project, are available for public review at the City of
Redwood City Community Development Department, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California
(phone: 650-780-7234), and on the City's website:
www.redwoodcity.org/phed/planning/eir/marinashores.html.
T.110695 Pete's Harbor EIR Addendumlrevised addendum no 211(10695-01).doc
