MIG F 8.A. - Page 297
City of Redwood City Revised Elm Huaenaurn
January 22, 2014 Page 3-56
3.11 CULTURAL AND HISTORIC RESOURCES
The relationships of the current Pete's Harbor project to the 2003 EIR cultural and historic
resources impact and mitigation conclusions are described below.
Impact 14-1 Analysis: Disturbances of Prehistoric Cultural Resources. The 2003 EIR
indicated that implementation of the project grading plan could disturb as yet unidentified
cultural (archaeological) resources. Although the current Pete's Harbor project encompasses a
reduced project site compared to the previous project, this impact remains potentially significant.
The associated 2003 EIR mitigation required on-site excavation monitoring by an archaeologist
and subsequent protective measures as prescribed by California Historical Resources
Information System (CHRIS), Native American Heritage Commission, CEQA, and the City's
Cultural Resources Management Program.
Conclusion. Modified impact and mitigation. References to dredging and marina excavation
have been removed because these actions would not occur under the current Pete's Harbor
project. Otherwise, Mitigation 14-1 remains applicable to the current Pete's Harbor project and
remains sufficient to reduce this impact to a less-than-significant level.
Other Impacts. The certified 2003 EIR determined that the previous Marina Shores Village
project would have a less-than-significant impact resulting from the disturbance of historic
resources. The current Pete's Harbor project includes no components or new conditions that
would change this conclusion.
T.110695 Pete's Harbor EIR Addendumlrevised addendum no 213(10695-01).doc
