CITY ATTORNEYtS REPORT REGARING QUIT TITLE UIT, CALLAN VS. CITY OF REDVOOD CITY, in
connection with Lots 1} and 21, Block 12, tiest Redwood. Delinquent taxes and 1915 Bonds against these lots total approximately
2, 700. The only interest the City has in these properties is the taxing interest and
delinquent taxes and delinquent assessment installments. It ie doubtful as to whether

or not the City could foreclose on the property for non-payment of the bonds. However,

it could be sold provided that a purchaser could be obtained for the delinquent taxes.
Mr. Callan is also suing f'or Lots 10, 11, 12, and 13, Block 9, ilest Redwood and interest
having been acquired from the estate of the former owner. City Engineer Jain advised
'"""' that a thirty-five foot easement for creek purposes is required across the rear of Lot
10 and a twenty-five foot easement across the rear of Lots 11, 12 and 13. The only
interest of the City in these lots is that resulting from delinquent taxes varying in
the amount from 77.00 to 87.00 per Lot. r. Callan s attorneys have requested a
statement as to the minimum amounts of' money the City would accept for a conveyance by
the City of' all the Cityts interest in the above described property. City Attorney
Currie recommends that the City s interest be appraised and an offer be made to Mr.
Callan to convey the City s interest f'or an amou.nt to be determined by the Real Estate
Committee withholding the necessary easements as merltioned above. Councilman Britsehgi
moved that the Real Estate Corrunittee appraise Lots 11} and 21, Block 12, seconded by
Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Stout then moved that the Real Estate Committee
consider Lots 10 to 13 keeping in mina the easements as required by the City. If
the residents are now of t he opinion that the red zones are of' no value, Traffic Com-
mittee does not object to their elimination. Councilman Granger moved introduction of
ordinance removin the No Parking area, seconded by Councilman tout and carried.
Councilman Jones moved that the Traffic Committee install a slow sign in lieu of the
stop signs recently removed which in his oinion justifies slower speed.
