Motion carried, Councilman Granger voting No, <br /> �r <br /> work to be done immediately. <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMNZSSION'S REC0112:J�.ENDATIOi�t5 REGARDING PROPQSED CONCESSION AT HAWES PARK. <br /> Two offers nad been received by the Commission, one from Mr. Phil Dorst, owner of the <br /> � <br /> Peninsula Homes Company, and one from Mr. William Gingher, Jr. There being more than <br /> �"' one offer, it was decided bids would be necessary. Councilman Stout moved the matter <br /> be referred to the City Attorney for report TViay 17th, seconded by Councilman Spillers <br /> and carried. <br /> PARK Ai�D RECREATION COMMISSION'S RECOM1triE�TDATIQNS REGARDING FUTURE NAMING OF VARIOUS PARKS <br /> AND PLAYGROUNDS. The Commission recommended that in the future Parks and Playgrounds <br /> be named after an appropriate peoneer of Redwood City who had some affiliation with the <br /> Par� and Recreation development of Redwood City. They also sug�ested that the Improve- <br /> ment Clubs, in the area where the Park is located, shall recommend names to the City <br /> Council. Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion, however, that the entire City should <br /> be entitled to select a name f'or any park. Councilman Stout reported that in the past <br /> the Commission has written Improvement Clubs and requested suggestions and in his opinion <br /> *� the Council should not tie down to any definite policy. Councilman Stout then moved <br /> ,�; that the communication be f iled and be made a part of the record, seconded by Councilman <br /> Britschgi and carried. <br /> COMMUNICATiOIvT FROM THE CITY MANAGER recommended that �600.00 be transferred from unallocated <br /> funds on hand in the Capital Budget to paint and recondition the Poole Building for <br /> occupancy by the Building Inspectors� Department. He also recommended the employment <br /> of an additional Typist-Clerk for the Building Inspector' s office to take phone calls <br /> and do such other clerical �rork as may be required. Councilman Britschgi stated his <br /> disagreement with the first recommendation regarding the Poole Building and suggested <br /> the hirin� of the Typist-Clerk be considered first. Councilman Britschgi then moved <br /> that the City Manager be authorized to hire a Typist-Clerk on a temporary basis, future <br /> consideration to be given in connection with budget study. Regarding the disposition of' the Poole Building, Councilman <br /> Stout moved that the reco�endations be referred t o t he Council Police Building Committee <br /> � <br /> for study and report back in thirty days.
