Mayor <br /> Herkner called attention to the proposed Truck Route ordinance which has been under con- <br /> sideration and will be decided on by the Council at a study meeting on August lgth. Burnhart spoke from the floor representing property owners and stated that �ithin ,,,,,,,,,� <br /> the past two or thrae years assessm�nts of close to �1,000.00 per lot were levied against <br /> the properties on Alameda de las Pul�as for streets which were never desi�ned fbr heavy <br /> trucking, therefore, he contended that it was only a matter of �ime before streets would <br /> be destroyed. Mayor Herkner stated that the Police Department had been investigatin� the <br /> logging trucka which have been operating through this area. The Police Department advised <br /> that no loggin� trucks have been noticed in recent da�s, however, it appears that a truek <br /> and trailer engaged in^ hauling logs from Pescadero to Antioch recently had become confused <br /> on several occasions and had used Edgewood Road, Alameda and Whipple in traveling through <br /> Redwood City. This practice has been discontinued. The Police Department contacted other <br /> drivers of lumber companiea in the area and left word that this road was not to be used for <br /> logging trucks. <br /> � <br /> LETTER FROIVI MRS. MARZE RAMIREZ REGARDING PROPOSED NURSERY SCHOOL IN EMERALD LAKE DISTRICT AND <br /> � <br /> REQUESTING PERMISSION TO HOLD CONCERT IN EASTER BOWL. Councilman Spillers moved that per- <br /> mit be granted, however, discussion followed regarding liability on part of the City. City <br /> Attorney advised that Council. could require necessary insurance and idemnity agreement. Coun- <br /> cilman Royer eommented on recent baseball agreement which involved a paymsnt of some �Z67.00 <br /> for insur�,nces in order that the City be protected. In Councilman Ro�rer� s opinion this was <br /> entirely out of line. In answer to Councilman Spillers question as to why the Bowl could not <br /> be used without bringing in the matter of expense of insurance, he was advised that t.his was <br /> necessary because use of the Easter Bowl would be a corranereial venture. After further dis- <br /> cussion Councilman Jones advised that th e Couneil Insurance Committee would meet with in- <br /> surancs carrier and report back at the meeting of August 16th. <br /> INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION ADOPTING MASTER PARK2NG PLAN. RESOLUTION 1748 establishing the <br /> detail of Equipment Replaceznent Fund for 1954'S5 was offered by Councilman Spillers who <br /> moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. The total amount as indicated has been �. <br /> established in the 1954-55 Budget.
