Coun- •••� cilman Royer moved approval of request, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Council - man Royer then proposed that the amount of �75.00 be included in the second half of the bud- get appropriation which amount was advanced by the Ch�mber of Commerce to the Redwood City � Merchants team. Motion seconded by Councilman Stout. Councilman Britschgi stated his be- � lief that Coun.cil should not loae control of expenditures of monies for advertising and promotional aetivities. Councilman 'Royer indicated that the Chamber did not ask for the refund of �75.00 but in his op3nion it w as only fair to replace the fla.nds advanced. Motion carried. LETTER FRO&i P.G.&E. REGARDING DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT TO CITY DUMPS AS RESULT OF FIRES. P.G.&E. sub- mitted a copy of astimate of alleged damege to their equipmsnt on two different occasions caused by fires in the City Dump. The first one occurred on Ma� 26, 1954, damage estimated at �352.61, the second occurring on or about June 17� 195�}, causing alleged damages total- ing �67.02. Councilman Granger moved the claims be denied and referred to the lesseefs insurance carrier, s�conded by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman Stout stated that records should show fires were not started by City Employse� as indicated in the P.G.&E. letter. � COIINCILMAN GRANGER inquired as to whether the P.G.&E. H.AD BE;EN REQtJESTED TO MAKE SIIRVEY ON EL ""`� CAMINO REAL from the northerly city limits to the southerly limi.ts. Cit� A�anager advised that City Engineer Ja3.n was now workin� with the P.G.&E. and would be ready to report on August lbth. TRAFFIC FACT FINDING CONIMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: LETTER REGARDI1dG EATTRAN CE TO SEQUOIA HOSPITAL. Traffic Fact Finding Committee had made a furthe r study of traffic conditions on the Alameda de las Pulgas at the intersection to Sequoia Hospital. The Coirnnittee recormnended to the Hospital Administrator that a flashing amber light be installed on the Alameda de ' las Pul- gas north of the entrance to the Hospital to afford protection to the visitors entering the Alameda de las Pul.gas at this location. The Corr�nittee, however, feels this is not the complete answer and would prefer that t he present entrance and exit to the Hospital be used as an entrance only and that an additional road be constructed for use as both entrance ""� and exit to Whipple Avenue in the vicinity of Circle Road. Councilma.n Granger xnoved that ..., the Council Committee, consisting of Councilmen Britschgi and Jones, meet with the Hospital Board to discuss thia matter.
