Councilman Granger questioned '� <br /> disposition of' the deed in the event improvements were not installed and it was decided � <br /> City could hold the deed until improvements �+ere installed. Councilman Royer moved that <br /> the City Manager be authorized to address a letter as suggested above� seconded b y Council- <br /> m,a.n Jones and carried. Councilma.n Granger moved that City Clerk be authori,ed to accept ,.e„ <br /> the deed, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. S. T. Hutz, 1�23 Poplar. Avenue, pro- <br /> � <br /> tested the contractors equipment crossing the sidewalk which at this point is dead ended. <br /> The barrier has been broken down and due to grass an d weeds is invisible. Mr. Hutz stated <br /> that he had filed a_ complaint with the Police Department but the equipment is still uaing <br /> this short cut to get through to Hess Road. Councilman Spillers moved that the City Manager <br /> investi�ate and do what is necessary, seconded by Councilman Royer. Councilman Granger stated <br /> that in his opinion the Poli�e should be on hand early in the morning and stop this traffic� <br /> This suggestion was added to the motion with the consent of the ma.ker and the second. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> COMMITTEE REPORT: CITY ENGINEER REPORT ESTIIVI.�4TED COST HESS ROAD EXTENSION. City Engineer sub- <br /> mitted the following estimates: <br /> Hess Road Extension <br /> Curb, gutter, sidewalk and paving �2,�}52.00 �+ <br /> Poplar A�renue across Hetch-Hetch.y Ri�ht of Way ��, <br /> Curb, guttar, sidewalk and pavin� �1,475.p0 <br /> Intersection Costs - Hess Road & Poplar Avenue 335.00 <br /> Storm Sewer 880.00 <br /> The estimated total cost af improvemsnts to be paid for by the City amounts to �5,142.00. <br /> Of this total, improvements to an estimated value of �2,452.00 would be constructed on the <br /> easement proposed to be obtained from Mr. and Mrs. Carl V. T. Wood. It is our understand- <br /> ing that the property owners on Poplar Avenue, with the exception of the Sa,n Francisco <br /> Water Department, would pay f'or all improvements on Poplar Avenue. The portion of Poplar <br /> Avenue crossing the San Francisco Hetch-Hetchy Right of Way would have to be paid for by <br /> the City in order to secure permission to conatruct the street across their land. The <br /> Cityts. share of cost of the improvement in front of the Wood propert9 would amoUnt to <br /> �1,226.00 covering one side only. Councilman Jones moved acceptance of Engineerts re- �"�' <br /> port, seconded by Councilma.n Stout and carried. .• <br /> COMMITTEE REPORT: REPORT ON PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL WAY. Councilman Royer reported that after the <br /> evidence presented at the study meeting Wednesday, August 18th, it appeared that the City. <br /> should proceed with the improvements. Councilman Royer then moved that th� Cit� Attorney � <br /> prepare the necessary resolution and secure information regarding sale of bonds, seconded <br /> ,,>,� <br /> by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> COlVIMITTEE REPORT: CITY MANAGER RECOMMENDATION REGARDING IMPROVEMENT PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM. <br /> City Manager made the followin� recommendations: ' <br /> l.
