Transfer. <br /> Moved a.pproval by Councilman Britsch�i, seconded by Councilman Spillers �.nd carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER called attention to A SIGN INDICATIIVG A CHANGE OF OPERATORS OF RESTAURANT <br /> IN THE FIVE POINTS AREA. To his knowledge no appl3.cation has been considered by the Council. <br /> City Collector was directed to investigate and to arrange for the new operator to secure <br /> � permit. <br /> � RESOLUTIOPt 1756 AMENDING 1954's5 BUDGE3' due to increasing the Police and Fire budget appropria- <br /> tions to include uniform allowance and to increase the Unbudgeted Reserve. Resolution was <br /> offered by Counc3lman S�illers who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried <br /> �- on roll call. <br /> �„ RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: CITY COUNCIL AND DEPARTIVlENT HEADS. <br /> Ct�UNCILMAN BRITSCHGI stated he had received communications regarding recent disturbances on the <br /> street near the Foresters Hall while dancing was in progress. He requested the Chief oP <br /> Police to report at the next meeting as to police calls received in the location. Council- <br /> man Spillers stated he had visited the dances at the Foresters Hall on several accasions <br /> and he had seen nothing out of order. He was of the opinion that the dances in the Fores- <br /> ters Hall were being aatisfactorily operated. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANCtER offered RESOLUTION 1757 OPPOSING THE PROPOSED INCREASE IN BUS RATES and moved <br /> adoption, seconded b� Councilman Spillers. Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion that <br /> the Council was not in a position to oppose this request for rate increase inasmuch as <br /> facts and figures had not been pres�nted for consideration. Councilma.n Granger sta�ed <br /> � <br /> his opinion that the Council should protect the public interest in every way possible <br /> and therefore the adoption of this resolution would indicate the Councilts interest in <br /> �...,�, <br /> the public welfare. Resolution carried on roll call, Councilma.n Britsch�i voting N0. <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER requested an investigation and report by City Attorney as to the POLICY OF <br /> SECURING A PORTION OF GAS T.AX MONEY AND LICENSE PAID BY THE BIIS OPERATOR. He called <br /> attention to the fact that the City in which buses were licensed w ould secure the entire <br /> pro rate of gas tax and license money. Councilman Britschgi requested Police Department <br /> check to the end that buses use loadin� zones properly rather than block a line- of traffic. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRA�TGER reported on STT7DY OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO BUILDING CODE AND BUILDINC� <br /> DEPARTMENT ORDINANCES. Code amendments and revision of the electrical code are now <br /> being studied as is the Plan Checkin� Procedure. Further report will be made at the <br /> September 27th Council meeting. <br /> CQUNCILMAN GRANGER reported th at the TREE COMMITTEE was working and making surveys and checking <br /> � with certain property owners in connection with possible tree planting program. Agenda, <br /> '� September 27th. <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER discussed the SUBDIVISION OF A AMALL LOT ON RUBY STREET as requested by <br /> MR. BERN ARD CO�PER. A variance i� needed to allow a 10 foot setback before a house can <br /> ,,� be built and this feature was overlooked at the time Nf�. Cooper was allowed to subdivide <br /> �, the lot. T'he City Attarney advised the only legal way to accomplish this was to apply <br /> to the Planning �ommission for a variance. <br /> COUNCILMAN STOUT announced that the YOUTH CENTER BUILDING COMMITTEE �+lEETING to which representa- <br /> tives of the local service clubs had been invited will be held Tuesday evening, August 31st. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER reported that the COMMITTEE WAS STILL ACTI1lE in their NEGOTIATIONS 1NIZH THE <br /> SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY in arriving at a decision regarding PARKING LOTS, ETC. <br /> .�r�,��..�,�.�..�,.�.�...�,�...�.�aRr.�._�...,m,.._... <br />
