1�6 <br /> Councilman Spillers expressed his thoughts regarding the plan proposed some months ago to <br /> establish a sub-depot with a parking lot in the southern part of the City, however, it was <br /> the consensus of opinion that the Council should wait for Councilman Granger' s Committee <br /> report before taking any action. <br /> FIRE AND BUILDING DEPARTMENT INSPECTION TUVO STORY BUILDING 1679-81 MAIN STREET. <br /> This inspection resulted in the following report and recommendations: """'� <br /> 1. Foundation on main building - concrete piers. ,,,,� <br /> 2. Foundation on north side of buildin� restin� on ground and deteriorated <br /> and infested with vermin. <br /> �. Step� off of small porch at rear of building resting on ground. <br /> . Sta,irs to second story not to Code- rise is more than is allowable, no hand rail. <br /> 5. General deterioration of exterior and interior of entire building. <br /> 6. Interior finish on both the first and second floor is wood covered with wa11 paper <br /> which is loose and ereating a definite fire hazard especially with the insufficient � <br /> electrical outlets. �� <br /> 7. Electric wiring is obsolete and inadequate for existing loads in building and � <br /> not up to Code. Electric panel not grounded and electric cords over 6� length. <br /> 8. Improper wiring on Neon sign. <br /> 9. Plumbing is old and in very poor condition. <br /> 10. Roof on main building and porch in very poor condition. <br /> 11. Roof on porch which extends 61 on north side of the main building and part of <br /> storage room is deteriorated and in such a bad condition it becomes a safety h.azard. <br /> 12. This building is in the lst Fire Zone and cannot be made to comply with the build- <br /> ing and fire re�u.lations. <br /> Due to the above mentioned conditions, it is the recommendation of both the Fire and <br /> Building Departments, that this building is a safety and fire menace and the building <br /> should be razed. Chief lniood reported that the Traffic <br /> Committee could see no justification for the signals, Alameda being an arterial and the <br />
