Robinson, 3640 Oak Knoll Drive, appeared and applied for a <br /> water connection on Live Oak Land which is 1.9 acres, Parcel #1, Bloek 15, Emerald Lake Park <br /> #2. 11drs. Robinson requested service as bein� necessary for a burning permit. She stated <br /> further that Mr. Werder, Couzity Fire Warden, had suggested that she apply for the water <br /> �^ connection because of the fire hazard and that she burn the brush on her property facing <br /> t�rr„ on Live Qak Lane. After further di$cussion it was learned that Mrs. Robinson had a water <br /> meter at her home which faced on Oak Knoll Drive, and she could not afford to purchase <br /> the 200 or 300 fest of pipe to run a line to the lower portion of her property. Councilman <br /> � Spillers moved denial of water connection, seconded b� Councilman Britschgi, Counci].man <br /> Granger stated that in his opinion N1r. 1�Perder should be informed that the City has no <br /> � ' <br /> responsibility in regard to fire protection in the County area and with permission of <br /> Councilman Spillers and Councilman Britschgi this �ras ,made a part of the motion. Fire <br /> Chief Lodi stated that the best tirr�e to burn brush in the area would be during the winter <br /> months. Mrs. Robinson stated that she could not get warkers then and she wanted water <br /> available before burnin� the brush. Motion to den� permit was carriad on roll call. <br /> WATER CONNECTION: Albert C. Evans, 2872 Westmoreland Avenue, made application for water con- <br /> nection stating that meter was �ranted and paid for a year ago, but payment was refunded <br /> when financial reverses made it impossible for him to build. Septic tank permit granted. <br /> Water Superintendent Winter reported that Mr. Evans was informsd by his off ice that having <br /> withdrawn his �30.00 service payment we considered the permit cancelled. Councilman Brit- <br /> schgi moved that request be denied, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. <br /> � <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: BROADWAY SIDEINALKS I MPROVEIV�NTS. Affidavit of posting, mailing and publication <br /> `�'"' were ordered filed. Mayor Herkner announced the opening of the public hearing. There <br /> bein� no protests, written or oral, Councilman Spillers moved close of hearin�, seconded <br /> by Councilman Ro�er and carried. OPENING BIDS. One bid was received. City Engineer <br /> Jain reported that the Engineer' s estimate was �7,377.05 on contract items. The bid <br /> was received from C. J. Wood, Inc. , amounting to �7,64q.20. City Engineer was requeated <br /> to check ,the bid and report back later in the meeting. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: WEED ABATEMENT. Affidavit of posting and publication ordered filed. Mayor <br /> Herkner announced the opening of the public hearing. There being no protests, written or <br /> oral, Councilman Spillers moved close of hearing, seeonded by Councilman Royer. Council- <br /> man Britschgi questioned �ust what he was voting for or against. Clerk pro-tem Orrin <br /> _ Wendling was asked to secure a copy of the Weed Abatement assessment roll. While Mr. <br /> � Vf�endling was securing the roll Councilman Spillers withdrew his motion. <br /> �,,, PUBLIC HEARING: PROPOSED ,ANNEXATION, 11�RRIS TERRITORY. INTRODUCE ORDINANCF. Mayo� Herkner <br /> announced opening of public hearing. City Attorney Currie reported that �his property <br /> is also being considered in San Carlos for annexation. He stated further that we should <br /> � start proceedin�s and let San Carlos make the next move if any is made. There being no <br /> � proteata, written or oral, Councilman Granger moved close of hearing, seconded by Council- <br /> man Britschgi and carried. Councilman Royer moved introduction of ord�,nance to annex <br /> Morris Territory seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING: C�NTINUATIQN OF HEARING FROM JUA[E 21, PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN LINES, WIDENIATG <br /> ALLEY BETWEEN BAYSHOR� AND HOQVER FROM 2ND AVENUE TO MARSH ROAD. Councilman Granger asked <br /> that this be refQrred to the State Hig�way Commission. The Clerk read a letter addressed <br />
