Councilman Granger moved that the City Attorney change <br /> ths ordinance and make the amendment in regard to regulations .P-1 Districta, changing para- <br /> graph #1 in reg�rd to prescription pharmacies and banks, and have the amendment read�r for <br /> adoption within 30 days. Motion seconded by Councilman Royer and carried on roll call. <br /> "'^"� BID OPENING, BROADWAY SIDE`WALKS. City Engineer Jain reported that four sets of plans and spec- <br /> �' ifications had besn taken out. Onl� one bid was received, and thia bid was found to be in <br /> order. Councilman Britschgi moved aeceptance of the bid, seconded by Councilman Stout and <br /> carried. RESOI,UTION 1761, ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, was offered by Councilman Spillers who <br /> ,,�.�. m�oved adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call. RESOLUTION 1762, <br /> � AV�ARDING CONTRACT, was offered by Gouncilman Granger who moved adoption, seconded by Council- <br /> man Stout and carried on roll call. <br /> Cf}NTINUATION PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN LINES, WIDENING ALLEY BETWEEN BAYSHORE AND HOQVER FROM SECOND <br /> AVENUE TO MARSH ROAD. Mayor Herkner read the latter from the Division of Highways that had <br /> previously been read and asked Mr. Jain for his interpretation of the letter. He agreed <br /> v�ith the Council that from the letter the State is going to put in a service road. Mr. <br /> Jain stated that he had written a letter to the State but to date had not received a reply <br /> to same. After some discussion it was dec3ded that the State was only going to put in a <br /> roadway as far south as 5th Avenue. 11�r. Jain reported that the State hasntt gone too far in <br /> figuring out what the situation is in regard to Redwood Citg. Councilman Granger moved <br /> matter again be tabled, that we secure a more complete answer from the State as to the <br /> cost and how far the State is �oing to extend the service road, seconded b� Councilman Spil- <br /> � <br /> lers. After further discussion as to ho�r far the State should extend their service road, <br /> � <br /> the motion was carried. Councilman Stout requested that Cit�r En�ineer Jain follow the <br /> Council� s suggestion through. Councilman Royer moved that this be put on the agenda until <br /> the second msetin� in October, seconded by Councilma.n Stout and carried, Councilman Spillers <br /> voting Nb. After discussion it �ras learned that Nlr. �tolison would be in Sacramento in the <br /> near future on other matters and it was the request af the Council �hat Nfr. Rolison also <br /> contact the Division of Highways on the above matter and report his findings to the Council. <br /> REPORTS: COUATCILMAN STOUT ON YOUTH CENTER. BUTLDING. Councilma.n,5tout reported that there had <br /> been a meeting on August 31st. It was the feeling of the Co�nittee that rooms in the War <br /> Memorial Building should be used for so�ial and not permanent basis. Theg would like to <br /> have propsrty located in Community Park. The Service Clubs offered to start a fund raising <br /> campaign. Councilman Stout moved that City Council approve the construction of a building <br /> "�" temporarily knovan as a Youth Center for the use of organized groups such as Boy Scouts, Cub <br /> � Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc. by the Service Clubs of Redwood Citg sub�ect to submisaion of <br /> final plans and program at a later date, and further sub�ect to a lease or some legal agree- <br /> ment. After considerable discussion this motion died for lack of a second. Councilman <br /> �.., Royer moved that report be accepted as read, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman <br /> � Stout stated that �3,000.00 has been collected for the erection of the building. He fur- <br /> ther stated that somethin� should be done and not let this moneg 1 ay idle. They could not <br /> build because they did not have sufficient funds to purchase land as well as build the <br /> _ Youth Center. Councilman Granger stated that the City couldn� t be bound at this time with- <br /> out �eopardizing the �ar Memorial Building. Motion carried.
