PERSONAL APPEARANCE BENJAMIN ORTEGA REAPPEARANCE REGARDING WATER 3ERVICE TO LOT 1.{.3, OAK KNOLL HEIGHTS. Mr. Ortega called attention to his appearance before the Council on August 23, 19�1}, at which time he was granted a �eater conneetion subject to permission from the County to construct a septic tank. Subsequently he was notified by Water Superintendent V�inter that his records indieated water service was originally applied for to serve Lot l}�. and a portion of Lot 43. He was advised fur�her that in the opinion of the City Attorney he should obtain permission from the prese�t owner of Lot I�} for exclusive use of this serv- ice. The present owners are R. & H. Carlson who have refused to sign a release. Mr. �lin- � terts contention is th at should the water service be given to Mr. Ortega there is a possi- bility that the Carlsons would demand a connection at later date. After considerable dis- �� cussion, Councilman Royer moved that we stand by the ori�inal decision and grant the con- nection to blr. Ortega, seconded by Councilman Stout. This is the second straight year the Stars of Tomorrox hava won the first place award in the Columbus Day parade. In the State Championship competition the Stars received 93.� and second place trophy. To date this orginization has won nineteen first plaee and one second place awards.
