21.� Mr. Tuite is of the opinion that this propert�r should be purchased for future use by the City. Councilman Britschgi moved that the letter be turned over to the Council for study at tYie November 29th meeting, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. PUBLIC HEALTH ENGIPTEER EUGENE HO�F�iELL RE: EMERALD LAKE WATER CONNECTIONS. N1r. Ho�►ell called attention to recent water connections which were granted as hardship cases brou�t on by the failure of wells. He suggested that hereafter the Council request a letter from ""`� a competent well driller certifing to the failure of the well before granting the water � connection. He also suggested the possibility of the Cotanty establ ishing more stringent requ3rements in connection with testing of wells. Councilman Britschgi was of t he opinion that Mr. Howellts letter needed further clarification and suggested that he or one of his ,,.,,� representatives meet with the Council to discuss the matter. It was also decided that here- � after the Health Department will be asked to send a representative when a' matter of mutual interest appears on our agenda. Councilman Britschgi moved that Mr. Howell or a represent- ative be requested to appear at the Council meeting of December 6th to discuss the question further. Bri�schgi, Floyd D. Granger Paul Jones, William H. Royer, Robert V. Spillers, and Mayor Herkner. Councilman Hiram S. Stout was noted absent. Also present were City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge, City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Attorney C. B. Currie, City Enginee�e Glenn M. Jain, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Police Chief Stanley Wood, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter and Building Inspector S. H, Kreiss. MR. PETRA ORTIZ OF 39 NIANZAN ITA REQUESTED AN APPROVAL OF HIS APPLICATION FOR A RESTAURANT PER- MIT. Application has been held up pending the proposed rezoning of the area from C-3 to C-2 in ordar that the application be sub�ec� to a use permit. Mr. Ortiz now requested his permit in return for which he agrees to eliminate the handling of beer and wine. Coun- cilman Britschgi suggested that the license be sub3ect to a suitable agreem�ent in line �..� with the above. Councilman Royer then moved approval subject to a letter from Mr. Ortiz , ,.� agreeing to �vith-hold beer and wine license, said letter to be prepared by t he City Attor- ney, motion seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. REPORT ON BURIALS, UNION CEMETERY. Councilman Granger reported th.at the committee was still actively engaged in contacting plot owners in an endeavor to get their feelings on the sub- � �ect. Councilman Granger moved that the matter be placed on the agenda of January 3rd, �°�"'' meeting. Councilman Britschgi seconded and the motion carried.
